This category almost always has a clear favorite to win. Hello, Dolly! and Falsettos both seem like the best bets for nominations. Miss Saigon and Sunset Boulevard will probably be fighting it out for the third slot. Maybe there'll be a close enough race in the nominating process to warrant four nominees again this year.
But if there only ends up being three nominees, I think Miss Saigon will take the third slot. Even though it received a mixed critical response last month, please keep in mind that the critics aren't on the nominating committee. Plus, the original production didn't get instant acclaim either. I also currently think it's likely going to receive more nominations than Sunset Boulevard.

I was really rooting for Miss Saigon to win until Dolly happened. I'm still praying it does well in june and becomes an open run.

Nobody thinks Cats will be nominated? Maybe they will try to showcase the long running shows Cats, Saigon, and Dolly.

I think Sunset has a chance too...I haven't seen really any other revival this year, but I will see Dolly in July. I decided to skip Saigon, Cats and Falsettos, because I've seen them all in the past and I was underwhelmed by them. I do love Hello Dolly! and think it is probably the favorite, because it's simply the most popular show. But Sunset is really well done and re-invented and if Tony voters are looking for that, it will win.

Well then why do people always talk about shows that get forgetter mmm because they closed in the fall. Falsettos could be that show.

I'm torn here. The award absolutely belongs to Hello, Dolly! If there are 3 nominees, I think the other two will be Sunset and Miss Saigon. That being said, I think Cats and Falsettos are actually better productions than Sunset. If there is a 4th nominee, I think it'll be Cats just due to the fact that it's open, but Falsettos was the second best production in this category after Hello, Dolly! So, if I had my way, the nominees would be Dolly, Falsettos, and Miss Saigon. I think we'll see the nominees as Dolly, Miss Saigon, and Sunset (with only three nominees).

I think Falsettos will be granted a nomination simply because it was a truly great production, even though it is long closed.

Those 3 for sure gonna be nominated. I really love this production of sunset blvd, but I think Hello Dolloy is going to win.
