I looked back, and I was suprised nobody ever asked this. Anyway, I am looking for some great cast recordings and was wondering what are some of the best. I probably should have started this before the day before christmas and hannuka, but whatever. Deal.

Posted: 12/25/05 at 6:47pmI totally agree with Composer9-it is such a perfect recording. Also,if you liked it, check out Floyd Collins (sp?) and Myths and Hymns....They're both great and underappreciated.

Sorry to get off topic but I have a question and I'm not sure where else to post it. What kind of stuff is in "The Last Five Years" booklet that comes with the Cd (ie pictures, lyrics, etc ) or is it just a front and back cover? Thanks!
Anyway I love Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Wicked : )

TL5Y booklet has lyrics and pictures, yeah (pictures where SRS looks absolutely STUNNING, let's not even pretend that she doesn't).
Can anyone tell me a little bit more about John & Jen? I asked for it for Christmas and totally didn't get it. I mean, I know I'm going to end up buying it anyway because even if people were saying it was terrible -- hello, Carolee, I need it anyway. But all I hear is great stuff about it. It's a two character show, right? I tend to be very hot and cold with Lippa's stuff, I don't know why...

Something that I think is fun to do to be a daring theatre freak is to go to the store and buy a CD of a musical you've never heard of or have heard little about and give it a listen to. So even if you just buy someone who LOVES musical theatre a random CD -- I think that'd make a cool gift.
But you can try:
Songs For A New World
Bat Boy
Once on this Island
Parade
Jane Eyre
