It depends on what you consider Best. To see? then you want the downstage seats or the LOW numbers....doesn't matter which side.
If you want to sit next to a particular actor then it totally depends.
If this is your first time seeing it....sit in the house.

The seats downstage are obviously better...the farther back you sit, the more you'll be looking at the backs of the performers.
But I agree with dramamama, if it's your first time, sit in the orchestra or mezzanine.

Posted: 12/5/08 at 10:54amThe stage seats aren't good for seeing or hearing the show AT ALL. If you have seen the show already & just want the ... uh ... thrill[?] of being on stage so you can sit next to a performer or just want that unusual perspective, then it depends on who you want to sit near & what your favorite scenes are.

Posted: 12/5/08 at 11:55amSomeone made a cool diagram of the on stage seating that showed exactly where each actor sits. I wish I saved that picture. Hopefully someone here can repost it.

I've only sat on stage once, but asked for the very back on purpose. I wanted the onstage perspective but didn't want to be THAT involved.
It was nice to see it from that angle as I'd already seen it from the Orch at that point.

Posted: 12/5/08 at 6:25pmI sat in AA13 and BB11. I liked BB11 because you sit next to a bunch of the guys in the show (but not Melchoir). AA13 was good because the seats on either side of you are occupied by two actors.

Posted: 12/22/08 at 10:12pmWhen my friend and I did rush last Feb, we ended up with BB 2 & 4 on stage instead of the orch rush seats (excited to get them as both of us had seen the show before). I was sitting in BB 2 and had an actor sing right next to me at some point. I thought it was a side, yet decent view of the action on stage. But I would have been a little lost if I hadn't seen the show before.

BB2/4 are always held for day of sales. (Not just rush as anyone get buy them.)
AA8 is good for seeing and such.
AA13 is like watching the show from backstage...not great to see the show in but you can catch lots of insider stuff.

Posted: 12/23/08 at 2:32pmI sat in AA 13 on Sat night. I enjoyed it but you do see alot of the actors backs. I was afraid to move though for fear of tripping any of the actors using that side of the stage. There's not much room especially if you are tall like me. You have the Adults(The male adult at the beginning and the female adult the rest of the show) on your left side and Martha and Thea alternate on your right side. It was really neat seeing the show from that perspective IMO.
