I really like Roosevelt Petrucius Coleslaw from Caroline, or Change. I think that it really fits the show, and yet it is still a great song to listen to.

Before they cut the intermission during previews, Storms a Brewin' in ....Trailer Park... was a great finale.
Maybe because I just saw an excellent production of ALNM at the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake my vote would go to "A Weekend in the Country." It combines several plot threads and sets up a great what-will-happen.
But that's just one of many possibilities.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

"Old Maid" in itself is a brilliant, brilliant song. I'm studying it in my voice lessons, and just starting to really appreciate it more than I already did.
Anyway, my vote goes to "I'd Give My Life for You" from Miss Saigon. The boat people chanting, and then Kim goes to join them... just a very haunting and dramatic ending.
Have to agree with Evita and Sweeney as well.
A Weekend In the Country- A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC
A Little Preist- SWEENEY TODD
Sunday- SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE
One Day More- LES MISERABLES
A New Argentina- EVITA
Everything's Coming Up Roses- GYPSY
All of those are pretty brilliant Act 1 Finales.

I love the act one finales in Spelling bee, Xanadu, Chorus Line, Drowsy Chaperone, and [Title Of Show].
For nostalgia, I still really love the end of RENT's 1st act.
I adore Passing Strange's act closer.
Blackout- In the heights (loved the cell phones)
One- bare (this is where **** hits the fan)
Defying gravity- Wicked (emotional and powerful)
One day more- les mis (classic and beautiful)
Bravest individual- Sweet Charity (FUNNY!!!)
And i'm telling you- dreamgirls
There are so many more but these are my all time favorites
Definitely, Sunday from SITPWG.
It is simply beautiful.

I really like "Final Storm" at the end of the Secret Garden. Just because its so huge, and then gets quiet, in the intermission you're like "Woah... what just happened."
or, that was my responce.

I have never, ever been so moved and awed by the end of an act as when I saw Coram Boy. The combination of the music and the action...I just sat there stunned, nearly sobbing.
Grey Gardens and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels both really do it for me.
Some of my favorites:
The Gods Love Nubia from Aida
All I Ask of You/Reprise from Phantom
La Vie Boheme from Rent
I Am What I Am from La Cage
Defying Gravity from Wicked
No Moon from Titanic
Can't Help Falling In Love from All Shook Up
Sunday from Sunday in the Park...
One Day More from Les Mis
Blackout from In the Heights
Act One Finale from Urinetown
A Little Priest from Sweeney
As odd as it sounds i thought 'I Remember How Those Boys Could Dance' from Carrie was a brilliant and haunting act 1 finale
The Rent act 1 finale is brilliant as is the Dreamgirls one

Though I've never seen it in person, I've seen a video clip and listened to the recording enough to know that "Rebecca" has a truly chilling act 1 finale. It gets me every time.
Definitely in agreement with those who said Sunday.
I'm saying DEFYING GRAVITY...
and I'm not even going to apologize for it or pretend I'm above the best effing send-off to the toilets in recent memory!
VIVA La Witch!

Everything's coming up roses is great, but it isn't as 'climactic' as these other finales we've mentioned. AMAZING song though.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh, man. Got my laugh for the day.
I can't believe no one's mentioned I Am What I Am from La Cage.
