Bumping this thread because I'm curious of people's (who have seen more Broadway shows than I have) opinions now about what the best show(s) on Broadway are.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I personally don't think The Color Purple is the best show on Broadway (pretty close, though), but I do think Cynthia Errivo's is the best performance now and, if my five decades of theatregoing are any indication, arguably one of the best ever.
