What do you think is the best song in each of the new musicals this season?

 

I'd love to hear what you all think! I haven't seen every new show but these are mine:

Suffs--The March

The Outsiders--Run Run Brother (or maybe Great Expectations) 

The Notebook--Leave The Light On (or My Days)

The Great Gatsby--Past Is Catching Up To Me (or My Green Light)

Days of Wine and Roses--Evanesce

Here Lies Love--Here Lies Love

Water For Elephants--Go Home

Back To The Future--It Works

Harmony--Threnody (or Harmony)

Stereophonic (not a musical)--Masquerade 

Illinoise (jukebox)--Chicago

Hell's Kitchen (jukebox)--No One, but I loved The River which I think is original

Didn't see Lempicka or How to Dance in Ohio

Days of Wine and Roses- First Breath or Morton Salt Girl

Water for Elephants- Lion Has Got No Teeth or You've Got Nothing

Suffs - Finish the Fight, The March, Worth It

The Outsiders - Great Expectations, Run Run Brother

The Notebook - Leave The Light On, My Days,

The Great Gatsby - My Green Light, Past Is Catching Up To Me

Days of Wine and Roses - Forgiveness

Here Lies Love - Here Lies Love

Water For Elephants - I honestly did not enjoy any songs in this show

Back To The Future - Something About That Boy

Harmony - Every Single Day, Where You Go

Illinoise (jukebox) - Chicago

Hell's Kitchen (jukebox) - hated the show, but I do enjoy Follow the River and Kaleidoscope

Lempicka - Woman Is, Perfection, Speed

How to Dance in Ohio - I guess Building Momentum? It's the only song I even somewhat remember from this show

I have no idea why they haven't featured Past Is Catching Up To Me in one of their TV performances. I know Eva isn't in it, but it's legitimately great.

I kinda like that it's this surprise moment that unfolds without having been spoiled. Let the audience get chills, same way I did.

The Pet Shop Boys are my favourite band and this electro pop song is presented like a Pet Shop Boys gig.

I haven't seen Outsiders, Water for Elephant and Great Gatsby yet

• Days of Wine and Roses - There Go I
• Harmony - Every Single Day
• Here Lies Love - Eleven Days
• How to Dance in Ohio - Building Momentum
• Lempicka - I didn't like any of them

Harmony: Hungarian Rhapsody #20 (also Every Single Day, Stars in the Night)

Here Lies Love: Eleven Days, God Draws Straight

How to Dance in Ohio: Building Momentum

Illinoise: The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades

Lempicka: Perfection

Once Upon a One More Time: Toxic (honorable mention to 3 and the new lyrics)

Suffs: This Girl

The Great Gatsby: New Money

The Heart of Rock and Roll: Workin' for a Living (mostly for the dance break, though special shout out to the dream ballet in Stuck With You as well)

The Notebook: Leave the Light On, If This Is Love 

The Outsiders: Great Expectations, Run Run Brother

Water for Elephants: The Road Don't Make You Young

Stereophonic: Masquerade

Haven't seen Hell's Kitchen yet.  Some songs I like because of how they're used in context whereas others I just like listening to, so it's hard to compare, though in doing this I realized my favorite scores are Harmony, Outsiders, and Suffs (and of course Stereophonic).
