Disney loves Denver. Expect it will play the Ellie Caulkims. I remember hearing that when The Little Mermaid previewed there they liked it because it had the specs for the theater they wanted in NYC. The Lunt.

I wonder why Disney is moving away from Nederlander. I know they don't have to be exclusive with one theatre owner, but I wonder why are they not working with them now after so many of their shows ended up in Nederlander houses.

I believe it will be premiering in The Buell, which unfortunately doesn't have the best acoustics. A lot of the other Disney out-of-town tryouts were at the Ellie Caulkins so I'm wondering why The Buell is their choice.

I'm kind of surprised this is happening. Betsy is more of a soprano, and Elsa's voice in the movie is definitely more alto. Maybe they're changing the music to fit the voice of a soprano?

Have you ever heard Betsy sing anything? She's only done a single soprano role in her professional career. She's a belter before a soprano, ten fold.

Lol I guess you're right (also my typo was because I was on my phone!)

This is all so exciting. I feel like we're getting to witness a star in the making. This is her Elphaba turn. I'm so excited for Betsy. So so so deserved.

The Nederlander houses are booked. The Palace will be unavailable, the Neil Simon has Cats, the Lunt and Marquis are currently booked with no estimated availability dates, and need I even mention the Minskoff, Gershwin or Richard Rogers, which will be occupied by their current tenants for years? And the Brooks Atkinson and Nederlander theaters had just reopened when Frozen was announced so they weren't available.

While the landlords can have an idea how long a show will run, they can't actually book another show into the theater unless that production announces its closing (either publicly or privately) or by the landlord invoking the stop clause (the conditions of which do not have to be met in consecutive weeks, and the landlord can permit the show to run until they find another tenant).

^also the st.james will also be undergoing renovations whenever it and the glee Hayes are both unoccupied.

YES! I thought it should happen. I hoped it would happen. And happily now it has. I hope she's able to really make the part her own. I know she can sing Let It Go but I want to hear what twist she'll put on it over time and I really want to see how she's going to act the character.

I would bet on Jujamcyn implementing the stop-clause, especially since there is no officially announced closing date. The show is (was?) an open run, so another show can't be booked into the theater unless the theater is officially available. Don't forget, this information was sourced by Page 6, so it wasn't officially announced.

Someone mentioned a possible renovation. . . that may be covered under a different clause which would force a show to vacate if extensive repairs are needed. But I doubt it.

Betsy has confirmed both on her Twitter and Facebook that this was true, so I doubt the info about the St. James is false.

Betsy sang Let it Go at a recent NSO Pops concert. She sounded wonderful.

I doubt the actors are the first ones to know where a show is going to be 2 years before hand.

I've been re-listening to the most recent 'The Last Five Years' recording with her as Cathy and she's excellent. I can't wait hear more casting news. Stoked to be catching this in Denver!
