I hope (and kill me if you want) that its for Aida. She would be great for Aida, and he would be great for Radames (since she is already rumored for the part, it makes sense)

Truthfully, I think that was just an offhand comment made by Baz to Vogue since he had just worked with them for the Oscars. Not sure if it would ever happen.

I would like to say that I called Jackman as Radames years ago. And like Pianolin717 said, Beyonce has been rumored as Aida for a while. So this makes sense.

Beyonce is perfect for the movie because she doesn't have to sing live. Just lip sync like she did at Oscar.

I am not a fan of Jackman's voice and wasn't overly impressed with the medley he did with Beyonce on the Oscars. I do like Beyonce's voice and she is one of the very few young singers out there that can deliver live vocals well.

AIDA could be a brilliant idea for a movie musical - it is surprising that no one from Hollywood has looked at it seriously ( rather than remakes of Damn Yankees, Bye Bye Birdie, Fame, Footloose, etc).

Beyonce and Hugh - hmm...sounds intriguing as Aida and Radames!

Thats what I thought when I saw Cheyanne as Radames, lol.

but i think drawing any connection to Wicked is a bit out there, He just mentions that he would like them to work together in a musical at some point. I'm sure if he were refering to Wicked he would have said so.

I'm pretty sure it is Bill Condon that is attached (or rumored) to direct AIDA, not Luhrman.
I think Luhrman was more or less just making that comment, I doubt he meant that he's actually pursuing it in any way.

Whoever they cast needs to be able to top Heather Headley--which is going to be very difficult. Beyonce, JHud or whomever; they better be freaking fantastic.
