"Shut your hole?????" LOL!!!!!!The proof about the street team at work again is in the responses. Beyonce is a mediocre singer, not very bright, and probably couldn't learn all the lines. She sounds like an idiot when she talks and she moves around like a clumsy ox on stage and can't connect with the audience. She's like a pretty talking doll. You pull a string and she recites what she's been taught with no passion. She just goes through the motions. She's like an empty vessel.
And by the way, it turns out that Matthew Knowles ala Sony PAID for Beyonce to perform those three numbers. I guess that does it for the rumors that the academy wants her because they think she's oh so talented. Sony Entertainment = deep pockets....they keep pouring money into this girl's promotion and she recoups very little back in sales. Go figure. They really want another Mariah. They won't get her in this girl. Another thing, she didn't sell 4 million CD's, she only shipped that many. Total sales .....1.4 million. Don't believe the hype people. Practically everything Beyonce has accomplished is smoke and mirrors. Everything else is payola. A five octave range.....OMG! LOL! I guess that's why she relies so heavily on that backing track.

MAURA IS A LIAR AND A HATER! LMAO! THIS IS SO FUNNY. MAURA WHY ARE YOU HATING SO MUCH? WHY CANT YOU COME TO GRIPS WITH YOURSELF THAT SHE CAN SING? WHATS WRONG WITH YOU? ARE YOU STUPID OR SOMETHING? ARE YOU DEAF? AND IF YOU CAN COME UP WITH CONCRETE PROOF THAT SHE PAID TO DO THE SONGS THEN I'LL BELIEVE YOU. WHY WOULD SHE PAY TO PERFORM? THAT'S HOW I KNOW YOURE LYING BECAUSE SHE'S A SINGER, THEY GET PAID TO PERFORM. STOP MAKING UP STUFF. YOU'RE MAKING YOURSELF LOOK RETARDED, IM STARTING TO FEEL REALLY SORRY FOR YOU NOW.PATHETIC.
AND ANOTHER THING THIS IS FOR EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD: MAURA AND OTHER HATERS, PROBABLY HAVE NEVER LISTENED TO BEYONCE'S CD BEFORE IN THEIR LIFE. THEY HEAR,"CRAZY IN LOVE" ON THE RADIO AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY'RE AN EXPERTS ON A PERSON'S VOCAL ABILITY? IM NOT TRYING TO HEAR IT. YOU ARE ALL A BUNCH OF HATERS WHO ARE THREATENED BY A BLACK WOMAN AT THE TOP OF HER GAME. KEEP BEING THREATENED. SINCE A REAL CRITIQUE REQUIRES YOU TO SIT DOWN AND LISTEN TO A CD, ANALYZE IT WITH PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF THE GENRE(WHICH NONE OF YOU HAVE) AND MAKE A FAIR, HONEST, AND ACCURATE(MEANING YOU'RE POINTS CAN BE PROVEN) CRITIQUE. NOBODY'S PROVEN THIS TO ME SO NOTHING YOU SAY HAS MERIT OR VALUE. NOTHING. IT WILL BE LABELED AS "HATE". THANK YOU

LOL someone's not really paying attention. Go read my post Tonya fanatic. I have nothing against strong black women! I'M FREAKIN BLACK! I looooooooove Tonya Pinkins (shoulda won the tony IMO) and I have heard Beyonce's recordings. SO I can make a critique. The truth is Beyonce is GREAT at what she does. She's wonderful. I don't agree at all with Maura. That's kind of mean, childish and frankly untrue. Beyonce's great at what she does. THat doesn't mean I wanna hear her belt Glitter and Be Gay. LOL actually that would be damn funny. Let fierce people be fierce at whatever they're fierce at. Now I urge you to go back and read my 2 posts. They are objective. I'm not threatened or hating. I really don't think anyone here is threaten by black women. People think Phylicia and Audra and Tonya are AMAZING. I wish black people would stop turning everything into a race issue. It really negates the real race issues that arise. You could have mentioned Christina Aguilara and people would have had the same response. It's just the pop invation people are fighting.

AND SINCE YOU ARE SUCH AN "R+B" LOVING PERSON, CAN YOU NAME ME THREE SONGS FROM FAITH EVANS FIRST CD? OR WHO IS MIKI HOWARD? OR MAYBE THIS ONE, UM XSCAPE HAD A GOSPEL SONG, CAN YOU NAME IT?
OR TRY THIS ONE EXPERT, WHO IS GUY? TROOP? PURE SOUL?

OK now you're getting rediculous. LOL how old are you 15? If so then well this is expected. Who the hell cares about naming songs and all of that. I'll say this. I know plenty about music in general. I went to school for it, I was raised in a church and I sing gospel and many other things. I don't need to prove anything to you! THat's all I'm saying and I believe this will be my last post for this topic. This is foolish and I'm turning out to be as childish as you. LOL Sooooo I'm leaving to post about something actually theatre related. LOL bye

Tonyafanatic:
"if you guys feel like she beyonce is MEDIOCRE, fine just be able to back that up with facts."
Facts? If someone feels that her voice is mediocre, it's an opinion, and they absolutely have the right to like or not like whomever they chose. It's called personal preference, facts have nothing to do with it. If someone said that someone that I really liked was mediocre, I certainly wouldn't fly off the handle and post a message in all caps and start calling people names. Let it go. Believe it or not, people are allowed to have opinions that differ from yours.

WEll I have to say that I do like Beyonce but wow 3 songs?...Wait a minute...That actually works considering that the oscar is for the song not the singer. With the same singer for all three songs you wont be so distracted by the singer and youll be able to hear the song and its message more clearly. But I think they could've picked a more appropriate candidate. But I'm happy for beyonce. and for what its worth I really like the song.
How can they see with sequins in their eyes?

There's always going to be someone hating on Beyonce. That's part of her appeal, just like Diana. There is such a strong love/hate feeling about some celebs, Star Jones comes to mind.
The thing I dont get is that most of the people spewing hate about a person...it makes them sound horrible at the same time.
And Maura, I can't believe you were dogging out Beyonce's performance skills. Have you seen her perform? Disconnect???I want you to name one performer who can out perform her?

Name one? How about I take up the whole board and name them? I'll give you one that not even the critics could deny because they were in concert together.....ALICIA KEYS!!!!! This woman had the audience on their feet, singing with her and did so without the backing track. Practically everyone that left the show was surprised that Alicia really was a better performer. People realized that Beyonce was basically back up dancers, backing tracks, videos, pyrotechnics, etc. Hell, Janet, Britney, and Madonna put on a better show with those distractions. Beyonce needs those distractions because when it's just her people are saying, "Is that it?" Yeah buddy that's it. The whole damn place had been had. Alicia Keys isn't smoke and mirrors dressed up in momma's makeup. The girl is the TRUTH!
When Beyonce can stand in front of an audience and hold their attention without the back-up dancers and distractions ala, Whitney, Mariah, Aretha, Celine, Barbara.....hell, even Deborah Cox for that matter; then she will have accomplished something. That old jack up the amps and reverb the mic trick doesn't cut it for someone in the know.
And Marquise, I'm not losing sleep over these posts, but I'm pretty sure you are. I'm enjoying myself too much knowing that another street teamer has just been handed their you know what. Goodnight! :) xoxoxo

I saw them both in concert last year...And believe me Beyonce was the main attraction. She was the big name and came to the stage last. The crowd was definitly feeling her more than A.Keys. Alicia is good, but her vocals were nowhere near Beyonce's (It is me or does she sound very strained lately?)
Just by hits alone you know that Beyonce had the crowd on their feet more than Alicia. What hits does Alicia have that make you get up out of your seat? Karma? Heartburn? Alicia's set was the mellow one where you could just sit back and chill. She's not nearly as excitng as Beyonce who could top her with just the hits from the DC Medley she performed.
You can not say that Beyonce can't sing/perform if you saw her perform "Dangerously In Love"....Alicia couldn't touch that song. It was just her onstage ala Whitney,Mariah, Celine, etc with no back-up dancers. Also, Alicia had back-up dancers and did some booty shaking on top of her piano herself. You shouldn't fault Beyonce for being able to dance just because Whitney and Mariah were clowned by critics for not being able to move, which is why they try to stand still.

maura,
believe i'm a street teamer. no sweat off my balls. your entitled to your opinion but it still doesn't change the fact that she will be singing three songs at the Oscars regardless of what you or anyone else thinks.
with that said i am truly off this board for awhile because the general atmosphere here lately reeks.
i will however be cheering my girl on at the oscars when it airs knowing YOU have been served.

Okay, I see some people are reaching once again when it comes to Miss Knowles. If she was such a huge star, she wouldn't have relied on the presence of Miss Keys on the Ladies First Tour to sell tickets. Alicia Keys is a 9-time Grammy-winning sensation who has sold way more records than Miss Knowles (and let's not try to include sales from Destiny's Child, thank you very much).
Whitney, Mariah and Celine have never pretended to be dancers. Those 3 women can put on a show with their voice ALONE. Can't say the same for Miss Knowles. While Alicia may not be able to sing "Dangerously In Love," Beyonce hardly has the soul to sing a gritty tune like "If I Ain't Got You." She'd yodel that song into the ground.
Beyonce's "dancing" is just as overrated as the rest of her talents. She will never be the skilled dancer that Mya is. I really don't see how anyone can count some silly booty shake as a dance.
As for the Oscars, regardless of whether she was singing or not, people will tune in. Why? Cause it's the Oscars. Let's not get it twisted. I had intended to keep my mouth shut on the subject of Nappy but I see that she continues to be overrated on this board.

Silent, Beyonce didn't need Alicia, Alicia needed her. Beyonce has been on many diffrent major tours (Toured w/Christina, Headlined TRL tour) How many major tours has Alicia been on? I don't know why we shouldn't consider Beyonce's accomplishments with DC considering she fronted the group. She sang lead on 85-90% of their first two records. She also wrote/produced/arranged a lot of their hits. But even if you want to just compare their solo efforts, Alicia won 5 for her first CD, so did Beyonce. Wait 'till Beyonce comes out with her second CD before you throw that comparison around.
Whitney and Mariah don't dance because THEY CAN'T DANCE. They were apart of an era in music that has faded. That's why Mariah is trying to come out with this party song "It's Like That." People are over the power-ballad age which is why you don't see Beyonce doing those types of things. So you can't compare her to Celine, Whitney, Mariah, etc because if Beyonce went around singing those types of songs she wouldn't have a career. The kidz wanna dance!
Beyonce, will never be as technically trained as Mya. So what? Mya is technically proficient, but Beyonce does more with what little skill she has. She does a lot more than booty shake. This is just like TONYAFanatic said, peeople just know about "Crazy In Love" and they feel they know the extent of what Beyonce can do. I have her concert CD and she is doing a lot of diffrent styles of dancing. Also, as I stated before "Ms. 9-time Grammy Winner" Alicia Keys was doing a booty shake on top of her piano. The energy Beyonce puts in/facial expressions/attitude are far more entertaining than Mya, which is why Beyonce's career is doing better. Mya can dance, but Mya sounds a mess live.
And about people tuning into the Oscars, the Oscars have been having ratings troubles for years. Where have you been? Sure you have the core group of Oscar watches, but that's not gonna get it. They are bringing in controversy for ratings (Chris Rock) Beyonce brings in her own built in audience and judging from the opinions of many, a lot of controversy as well.

Whitney, Mariah and Celine also never catered their music to "kids." They appealed to all types of audiences. And that's why Miss Knowles was singing "Dangerously In Love" along with "Crazy In Love."
Alicia Keys needed Beyonce? Now you really ARE reaching. I guess that's why Alicia's headlining her second solo tour this spring. Trust me, Alicia Keys has far more critical acclaim and respect than Miss Knowles.
Exactly what kind of other dances was Bee doing? Flipping her weave to the side?
It's a shame that Bee has never had an "Ashlee Simpson" incident. One day though, the "tape" will accidentally play back or the "echo" machine will break down.
You talk about people hating on Beyonce, saying it makes people seem really cruel. You've chewed and spit on legends like Whitney and Mariah to make your Beyonce look great. She will never be half the vocalist those women are.

Damn this thread is crazy. All I have to say is. Beyonce's performance of "Dangerously in Love" on the Grammys last year was STUNNING, even my dad was impressed (He hates todays pop singers).. she can sing.. no doubt.
Alicia is VERY talented. I give her SO much credit for playing that piano, writing the music & lyrics, and singing the hell out of the songs.
BOTH ARE VERY TALENTED.

For those who might be interested... I watched an interview that was done today on ITV in Britian with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. During the course of the interview it was mentioned that he will be accompanying Beyonce when she sings his song.
