Just curious, how much did a regular orchestra/front mezzanine run for this?

This pre-sale was just a total clusterf*ck, and I wasn't even participating in it.
How do you fail to limit the # of perks you provide to not grossly exceed the # of tickets available? You can't allow 5,000 (just grabbing a # here) pre-sale codes to be purchased for a 1,500 seat theater.
And now they're offering REFUNDS of donations.

I wonder if they'll have a cancellation line that day. Really seems messed up the way they handled this. Yes, they were truly surprised by the overwhelming response. But considering the demand, this should be taped and available for the public. Think how much more they'd raise for BC/EFA.

I'll admit, I did basically pledge some money because I didn't want to be shut out. Obviously that could have not been the case today. I guess it's great that they didn't need to have a general sale, but it's also a little insane. Like basically anyone going now either pledged $25 or more or are that person's guest.

I spaced on the ticket sale today until 11:44 am when I tried desperately to get the $100 or $150 tickets. But they were all out. It would have been worse to experience the frustration of codes not working or timing out like you all experienced. I'm disappointed not to get to see the concert but kind of relieved to have an out for not spending so much money on tickets.

Basically, they could have just added another $25 to the ticket price and not do that pre-sale code nonsense. That would have been fairer to everyone.
Yea, they didn't expect that response, but they intended to let backers purchase 4 tickets per pre-sale code (which was later changed to 2), so they should have just limited that pledge to like 350 right of the bat. 350 pledges isn't that many, they really could have done the simple math and anticipated the possibility of that much interest...
I know they said they try to add a second performance or have it recorded but to come up with nothing to rectify this screw-up is a little sad. Couldn't they have found a bigger venue at least? City Center or the Beacon have a considerably larger capacity and a non-Broadway theater might have also made it easier to make a second performance happen...
Really would have liked to go, oh well... Cut, Print, Moving On...

I ended up being able to buy two, but what a mess it was.
It's a shame they handled this morning's glitches so poorly as I actually thought their communication to backers via Kickstarter was pretty thorough, informative, and clear up until today.

I was right on at 11 and the code didn't work. I followed the comments on the Kickstarter, and a few minutes after some folks were able to get on, I was too. By the time I searched, there were no pairs and only singles.
I got one ticket in Row Z of the orchestra, side section, and another in row EE of the mezzanine all the way to the side.
Any opinions on which of these seats will have a better view? They were both at the $200 price point....

If anyone does have extra tickets, please let me know. Thanks for your help! :)

I am also looking for extra tickets but so far, nada. I have a feeling this one isn't going to be easy to find re-sellers on, considering how much went into getting them in the first place. Ultimately, I am super disappointed I never got a chance to buy a ticket.
I really hope they consider moving to a larger venue, if at all possible, and releasing a batch of public tickets with that, or at the very least record the performance!

Yup, I agree with this. I didn't participate but just from reading about it, that seems like the #1 first logical step.

With everyone sharing their adventures on Instagram and the like these days, we'll certainly see how many tickets were held back for distribution to various VIPs, Broadway performers, etc on the day of the event.

Apparently none, as Marc Shaiman has taken to Twitter looking for a ticket for his sister. If he doesn't have tickets, then no one has tickets.

It is interesting that this show has completely changed the typical balance of power from the consumer to the supplier. They have all the power and seemingly need consumers a lot less than they need them. It somewhat bothers me that they have made a lot of extra $$$ from this venture without returning the money to the consumers. Where is the money going to go?

To the Actors Fund. It wasn't a fundraiser to just break even on production costs.
