Box Office Transparency About Rush Seat Locations

I think it'll depend on the kind of day the box office person is having. From my experience, they'll just give you what they have. If you tell them what you plan to do, the greedy ones may tell you a partial view seat so they can get an extra $20-$30 out of you. There are nice box office folks out there who'll gladly answer your questions but as I always say, just be prepared for the worst experience possible to avoid disappointment and you'll be fine. Remember, box office folks are salesmen/women.

Personally, I find that even the more short-tempered box office workers will at least tell you where the seat is. I have, occasionally, asked about rush seat location before buying, and they have always told me. For me, the real variable is whether or not they let you choose between different rush seats. THAT always depends on the mood of the employee, and/or the show's policy. But it doesn't sound like that's what you're looking to do. I think if you make it clear that you're deciding between the rush seats and full price, they will tell you where the seat is, even if they are a little grumpy about it.

Agree on expecting the worst & that BO staff are salespeople. I find they tend to overstate how "good" seats are and how minimal obstructions are, especially with cheaper tickets like rush. IMO it's best to ask them to point it out on the seating chart and draw your own conclusions.
