THE LOST BOYS Previews

I’ve heard multiple people talk about the show-starting jump scare. Could you please elaborate on that? (What actually happens/is heard? When does it happen?) - Thanks

CHESS 2025 Broadway Cast Recording Thread

I'm loving what I'm hearing on these individual songs!

They really let the songs rock & flaunt their 80s aweomness! The drums, guitars and synths are prominent in all of that places I want them to be!

Maybe it's the clear sound on these recordings & and optimal mixing, but the songs almost sound better here than they did at the Imperial in January!

Yes. One of the gayest characters on Broadway right now.

Interesting! What character is it? (A classic character from the movie or one created for the musical?)

First off the show is way longer than it has any right to be. It ended at around 10:57 (and it then took a full ten minutes to get out of that theater from the balcony! Seriously the logjam there is terrible.)

The problem is you really feel that length. We don’t need half the songs to be slow ballads about family. It serio

I saw the lion king last night

Please take this in the causal/friendly/loving way it's intended...

Why all the hatred for The Lion King? Sure, it's become a big tourist show. But, I thought it was generally more highly regarded for Taymor's artisic design/image.

I'm not going to lie. Since I last saw the show nearly 23 years ago, and I was only a teenager then, I got a ticket to revisit it next week. After seeing the original movie on tv a few weeks ago, I too think that I might get more out o

Quite the opposite, in fact. One of them is bigger (and has been in the works for nearly 20 years), while the other is hardly surprising to anyone who has seen hisfavorite director of the moment in New York and London and heard what's next on his list.

You got me totally puzzled with that first, 20-years-in-development

2025-2026 Musicals to Be Announced

MayAudraBlessYou2 said: "I can definitely see a successful narrative for Goddess. Especially in a less crowded season where it has more breathing room. I found a lot to love in this show, and if it can be refined a bit, I think it will truly be something special.

I should note that multiple people have confided in me that it has been harder than ever to secure funding for new musicals. This is the main reason why so few announcements have been made. The usual investor pool

That's the 2014 arena tour that was mishandled. Wasn't he trying t

It may not have been the first in a stadium but I think the first concert in the round was donein Australia in 1992. An incredible production if you’ve never seen it. I wonder if this style could happen again.

Well...hopefully without the Branson-meets-Ren Faire costumes. And it has been done in arena stagings before, if that's what you were getting at.
"

I was thinking of the 2014 JC Chasez, Brandon Boyd, Johnny Rotten & Michelle Williams arena tour that was canceled at the 11th hour! (I'm not saying revive that exact production/design concept. Just revist the idea of a JCS arena tour in America.)

Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit, and Nicholas Christopher in 2025 Chess Revival!

SMASH To Close June 22, 2025

Any hunches/intel/rumors, about what’s next at the Imperial?

Sound Issues At Operation Mincemeat?

I was just reading some posts, across various sites, about people hearing bad audio & having a hard time making out what the actors were saying throughout Operation Mincemeat (notably in the mezzanine). Is that still the case, or have the sound issues been improved?

I’m going to see the show in a week and a half, and I have a seat in the last few rows. Should I really expect to have a hard time following the story, etc? (If so, is there anything

CONFIRMED! Wayne Brady & Taye Diggs to join MOULIN ROUGE in July

So, what does this likely mean for Chess?

Wasn’t it reported that Chess would have already begun performances in the Hirschfeld by November 9th?

Has it been delayed or found a new theater?

JUST IN TIME Reviews

Is the show limited run or open-ended run?

Unless I'm reading it incorrectly, the website makes it look like tickets are only on sale through the end of July.

JUST IN TIME Previews

So, what's the concensus at this point?

Is the show REALLY about, A) Bobby Darin's life or B) Jonathan Groff playing Bobby Darin?

JUST IN TIME Previews

Now that some of you have seen the show, I have to ask the BIG QUESTION: "What places to sit in & what are the worst?"

I've attached a seating chart here & given the sections letters, so that we can all identify & refer to them easily.

What Is Chess?

A traditonal musical?

A rock musical?

A pop musical?

Thanks to this board, I have become a fan of Chess & gotten quite excited for the (supposed) revival we will get this fall. But, I keep trying to figure out how to categorize the show. - I want to call it a rock show, but the beginning of Merano doesn't sound too rock...or even pop...at all! - But, The Arbiter certainly isn't classic Broadway.

So, what exactly is Chess?

Chess 2025

If they don't get Lambert, could Tveit pull it off?

Or could they possibly have in mind some other rock/pop singer that we're not thinking of?
