I'm loving what I'm hearing on these individual songs!

They really let the songs rock & flaunt their 80s aweomness! The drums, guitars and synths are prominent in all of that places I want them to be!

Maybe it's the clear sound on these recordings & and optimal mixing, but the songs almost sound better here than they did at the Imperial in January!

It may not have been the first in a stadium but I think the first concert in the round was donein Australia in 1992. An incredible production if you’ve never seen it. I wonder if this style could happen again.

I was thinking of the 2014 JC Chasez, Brandon Boyd, Johnny Rotten & Michelle Williams arena tour that was canceled at the 11th hour! (I'm not saying revive that exact production/design concept. Just revist the idea of a JCS arena tour in America.)

I was going to get a ticket for January 24th. (Gives me something to look forward to during the dead months after Christmas & New Year's.) However, I see that Lea has a planned night off, the night before, on Friday, January 25th.

How does it usually go when performers have planned days off? Can it turn into other, surrounding days off, too? Am I best to stay away then and look for another date?

Any hunches/intel/rumors, about what’s next at the Imperial?

So, what does this likely mean for Chess? 
 

Wasn’t it reported that Chess would have already begun performances in the Hirschfeld by November 9th?

Has it been delayed or found a new theater?

 

 

 

Is the show limited run or open-ended run?

Unless I'm reading it incorrectly, the website makes it look like tickets are only on sale through the end of July.

So, what's the concensus at this point?

Is the show REALLY about, A) Bobby Darin's life or B) Jonathan Groff playing Bobby Darin?

Now that some of you have seen the show, I have to ask the BIG QUESTION: "What places to sit in & what are the worst?"

A rock musical?

A pop musical?

Thanks to this board, I have become a fan of Chess & gotten quite excited for the (supposed) revival we will get this fall. But, I keep trying to figure out how to categorize the show. - I want to call it a rock show, but the beginning of Merano doesn't sound too rock...or even pop...at all! - But, The Arbiter certainly isn't classic Broadway.

So, what exactly is Chess?

If they don't get Lambert, could Tveit pull it off?

Or could they possibly have in mind some other rock/pop singer that we're not thinking of?
