What's Next For Jesus Christ Superstar?

Sep 25, 2026 — 11:02:11 PM

I've heard rumors of another Broadway revival (of the version currently playing in London), rumors of a Baz Luhrmann movie, and of course rumors of Cynthia & Adam doing their thing in NYC.What's the latest? Where do we stand in September 2026?

Re: Are these musicals coming to Broadway??

I, also, just heard a rumor that there will be a Jesus Christ Superstar revival. Any truth/more info on that? I know there are controversial, loud-mouthed people on social media, who start these kind of rumors. So, I wanted to check here and see if there is anything substantial behind that rumor. (I know some people here are particularly passionate about & knowledgeable about JCS, in particular.)

CHESS 2025 Broadway Cast Recording Thread

Apr 9, 2026 — 10:02:20 PM

I'm loving what I'm hearing on these individual songs! They really let the songs rock & flaunt their 80s aweomness! The drums, guitars and synths are prominent in all of that places I want them to be!Maybe it's the clear sound on these recordings & and optimal mixing, but the songs almost sound better here than they did at the Imperial in January!

It ended at around 10:57 (and it then took a full ten minutes to get out of that theater from the balcony! Seriously the logjam there is terrible.)The problem is you really feel that length. We don’t need half the songs to be slow ballads about family. It seriously seemed like every other song was sung by...

I saw the lion king last night

Please take this in the causal/friendly/loving way it's intended...Why all the hatred for The Lion King? Sure, it's become a big tourist show. But, I thought it was generally more highly regarded for Taymor's artisic design/image.I'm not going to lie. Since I last saw the show nearly 23 years ago, and I was only a teenager then, I got a ticket to revisit it next week. After seeing the original movie on tv a few weeks ago, I too think that I might get more out of it as an adult. (I certainly d...

One of them is bigger (and has been in the works for nearly 20 years), while the other is hardly surprising to anyone who has seen hisfavorite director of the moment in New York and London and heard what's next on his list."You got me totally puzzled with that first, 20-years-in-development one. 2025-2026 Musicals to Be Announced

I found a lot to love in this show, and if it can be refined a bit, I think it will truly be something special.I should note that multiple people have confided in me that it has been harder than ever to secure funding for new musicals. This is the main reason why so few announcements have been made. The usual investor pool seems to be in a per...

Sound Issues At Operation Mincemeat?

May 6, 2025 — 12:58:09 AM

I was just reading some posts, across various sites, about people hearing bad audio & having a hard time making out what the actors were saying throughout Operation Mincemeat (notably in the mezzanine). Is that still the case, or have the sound issues been improved?I’m going to see the show in a week and a half, and I have a seat in the last few rows. Should I really expect to have a hard time following the story, etc? (If so, is there anything I could/should do to aid this situation?)Thanks

Is the show limited run or open-ended run?Unless I'm reading it incorrectly, the website makes it look like tickets are only on sale through the end of July.

Now that some of you have seen the show, I have to ask the BIG QUESTION: "What places to sit in & what are the worst?"I've attached a seating chart here & given the sections letters, so that we can all identify & refer to them easily. https://ibb.co/BH7Lndqz
