Posted: 5/16/10 at 11:20amThere is no chance of Plantadit winning. If she received rapturous reviews and became the breakout performer, as Finneran has done with Promises, Promises, then maybe. But she hasn't. And she's up against two Broadway legends, and the beloved Lillias White making her return to a Broadway production after over ten years. This is a case of her nomination being her reward.

Posted: 5/16/10 at 7:39pmPR, you seem to be a fan of Come Fly Away...or at least enjoyed it. I'm surprised that there hasn't been much comment on the board about the CFA Best Musical snub. Either people being happy that it was snubbed (what I would expect from this board) or people being outraged that it was snubbed (as I was). I for one think that it should have had MDQ's spot in best musical. I also think that Charlie should have gotten a nod and perhaps some of the design categories.

Posted: 5/16/10 at 8:03pmyes, justaguy, i am a fan of CFA. I live in Atlanta and saw the show when it was here. I loved every minute of it! I also saw it again on my trip to NYC over spring break. I do think MDQ took the spot for the producers to be able to sell that show on tour saying it was nominated for "Best Musical". CFA seems to not be having any trouble at the box office like most of the other new shows this year except for Addams Family. Charlie most certainly should have gotten a nod as well. Glad I'm not the only one on this blog who liked CFA. Updated On: 5/16/10 at 08:03 PM

Posted: 5/16/10 at 10:14pmThere must be more than just you and I that liked it on here. They're doing great box office so far but a Best Musical nom would have solidified them for sure. I think they were robbed. Especially because it was MDQ. I could have lived with ER or SOS getting the spot but not MDQ. I think they should have had some design noms too. Come Fly would be great to tour though just as good as MDQ. Simple unit set, Sinatra as a calling card. Could make a bundle on tour.

Posted: 5/16/10 at 11:04pmI loved COME FLY AWAY. I keep going back and forth between CFA and EVERYDAY RAPTURE as to which was my favorite new musical to open on Broadway this year. Updated On: 5/16/10 at 11:04 PM

Posted: 5/16/10 at 11:07pmregardless it seems as though Addams and CFA don't need a Tony Nomination to help them at the box office...Addams has already announced a tour, i'm sure the same announcement is coming soon from CFA.

HA, maybe a love 'triangle' thread. Going to go with a CFA was robbed thread, that might do better.
