Opening night is almost here! Best wishes to everyone! Cant wait to see it on Sunday night, Aug 25th!
Anxious to read the reviews! A lot of people's posts on social media say how much they love the show and Levi. Let's see what the critics have to say! Congrats to FIRST DATE on being a new, original musical! (Not based on a book, TV show, or movie.)
I've been semi watching what the tkts booth have been offering as discounts. It has only been 30 and 40 lately. In an odd way that is kind of encouraging. That means tickets are selling better then what I think most people were expecting. =)
That's suprising, their average ticket price is pretty low, so there is still a lot of papering going on. There is only ONE show that has a lower price -- including PLAYS.

Yes I saw it last night for $33 dollars in the front balcony (perfectly good seats).
I think the advantage of a lot of bad press is that it was not nearly as bad as I feared (sort of like the converse of Matilda for me personally which got such amazing reviews, it could not live up to my expectations).
I can certainly see the weaknesses and the flaws in the scripts and the music is unmemorable. That said, the audience LOVED the show, and laughed/clapped throughout the evening and Zachary Levi was totally charming and made every one of his moments count. He should be getting high marks IMO.
It also nice to see an original something - not based on anything previous that came before.
So good luck. I hope it has a decent run.
I, too, will send my best regards, especially for Levi; he was a delightful revelation to me and hopefully will continue to grace Broadway with his work more often after this debut.
Break your legs! i already have my tix!
I hope its reviewed will i dont care i will see it no matter what!
As I said in another thread after I saw it, I was actually impressed with it (and totally have a crush on Levi). Whether that be from the fact it wasn't as bad as posters on here said, I cannot say. True, I cannot remember the music AT ALL, but it was a fun night out. And they are doing something right. I work in a major hotel on the East Side and it is a frequently requested show (in addition to the guests who have already arrived tickets in hand) and the feedback I get is great. And this is from people, who after I delve a little bit, appreciate theater. I wish it the best of luck in reviews tonight and a respectable run.

How long is Zach and Krysta contracted for? It probably wont survive after they leave (especially Zach), but I hope it does run a while...sounds like a great date show to me!
