Why do people always "dream cast" when a new production is announced? I never understood that.

Why not. It's fun!!!! Sherie Rene Scott as the inn keeper's wife. Brian d'Arcy James as the inn keeper

But WHY is it fun? I am genuinely asking.
Considering the fact that dream casting has absolutely no impact on the real world, I just wonder where the satisfaction comes from. Is it the same satisfaction we all get from sexual fantasies? Is this your sexual fantasy? It's totally off-topic but worth asking...

The cast that would get me to re-see this show:
Valjean: Brian d'arcy James
Javert: Raul Esparza or Mark Kudish
Fantine: Betsy Wolfe
The Thenardiers: Colmon Domingo and Mary Testa
I could care less about the students

Meh. Just build a theater for it and let the installation stay forever.

wow, that is off topic and my answers would be too off color for this board. Besides this board is like a hornets nest. Occasionally it is fun to poke it with a stick and watch them all get in a twist.

"Could Sam Barks come and make her Broadway debut as Eponine??"
"Rumor has it that Mackintosh already wants her to play Nancy in both a Broadway revival and new film adaptation of 'Oliver!'"
Cameron needs to understand that the world does not want to see Oliver again, it's only popular in the UK, and he needs to focus on a Miss Saigon revival and film.
And in the meantime, yes, Samantha Barks could play Eponine on Broadway, though I would like to see another person/portrayal too.

Isn't it hard for West End/foreign actors to be on Broadway on account of Equity having a huge stick up their ass or did I just make that up

"We could kill 2 birds with one stone and do LES HEIGHTS.".
Also starring Olga Merediz as Abuela and all the non descriptive Les Miz women. She has already played them all.
