PLEASE cast Anthony Warlow as Valjean, every song will be an eargasm!
And how about Sasha Allen (from Hair and The Voice) as Eponine?
I was under the impression they were just doing a sit down with the current tour which sucked French balls by the way.
They have worn this show down to the nub. I wont even watch my bluray for another 3 years.
Love the show. Hate the new production. I'll wait until I'm in London to see it again.
If this is that horrible, re-imagined 25th Anniversary crapfest then it needs to stay as far away from Broadway as humanly possible.

I saw the tour in January. It wasn't received well. People kept asking where's the turntable and the barricade was laughable. It's such a smaller production. There were a few nice improvements like Javert's death scene and Empty Chairs and Empty Tables.

I don't think so (to the first part): https://www.broadwayworld.com/equity-audition/LES-MISERABLES-Broadway-Theatre-TBA-2013-6277

Jeremy Jordan as Jean Valjean and Patina Miller as Javert.
Stephanie J. Block as Eponine, and Jessie Mueller as Fontine
Andrea Martin as inn keepers wife and Terrance Mann as the inn keeper.
My guess is you'll get a few Broadway mainstays, but for the most part it will be unknowns. They can pay them nothing, etc. The show is the star.
Also, I agree that this production lacks the "wow" factor of the original. The sets fine and projections are fine for a tour, but on Broadway I expect something really special. I liked Javert's death, but I wish the perspective switched to overhead near the end of the song and then he jumped. Would have been a cooler effect.
I don't see this lasting for years, but you never know.
I believe the current tour which concludes in mid-August in Vegas will turn into the Toronto limited sit-down (recast with Canadians) through next February. Does anyone know if the physical production from Toronto will be used for the Broadway run? I'd assume so.
I hope they add some stuff to the tour set.
"Jeremy Jordan as Jean Valjean and Patina Miller as Javert.
Stephanie J. Block as Eponine, and Jessie Mueller as Fontine
Andrea Martin as inn keepers wife and Terrance Mann as the inn keeper."
I just did a spit take at the thought of someone seriously suggesting Jeremy Jordan for Valjean and Stephanie J. Block for Eponine.
However, you're on to something with Jessie Mueller as Fantine, and Andrea Martin as Madame Thenardier!

I'm also pretty sure the physical production is going to end up in NYC after Toronto, and the timeline seems to fit that.
I'm really hoping that Andrew Varela stays on as Javert. His voice (from what I heard on recordings and what I've heard from friends who saw the tour) is so perfect for the role and it's quite versatile. Anthony Warlow would be a great Javert too. Ramin Karimloo should make his debut as Valjean, or bring John Owen-Jones back. That man deserves a Tony! As far as other roles, I have no idea who should be cast, but I'm so excited to see this when it hits Broadway. I've never seen it performed live onstage, despite performing two productions. The movie wasn't as good as I'd hoped. It needs to be redeemed!
Earl Carpenter is playing Javert in Toronto with Ramin at JVJ.

Echoing what Taz said, here's a press release on the Toronto cast in case anyone hasn't seen it (Earl Carpenter is not in there but he tweeted about it). I think Genevieve Leclerc is the only principal staying on from the tour. Callbacks for Broadway will be next month.

For those who are asking why people bother to dreamcast, I echo that it's fun. I've been doing it for 30 years, albeit largely with movies, and often tongue-in-cheek.
Russell Crowe certainly played Javert in the movie in a comically deadpan way. What, that wasn't intentional? If it was, I'd say he should be cast as Thenardier!
Alun Armstrong, the fellow who played Thenardier in London and was cast in the 10th anniversary show, was sublime, in my opinion. Unfortunately, he's much too old for the role now. I can't think of a comic singer/actor the right age.
I'd like to see one of the recent Raouls in "Phantom," Kyle Barisich or Sean MacLachlen, as Javert. They're both fine actors with incredible baritone voices, and I'd like to see both of them become stars.
There are many fine tenors who can play JVJ. I just wish Colm Wilkinson hadn't gotten too old for the role -- I'd love to see him live. Ramin Karimloo has the voice, but I've always thought he's too physically small for the role; JVJ has to be huge and strong as an ox.
As for the SBs -- Sierra Boggess and Samantha Barks -- bring them on!
Either Stephanie or Sierra for Fantine! That sounds lovely! I wish 10 years ago Audra played Fantine - she could still now, but I doubt she'd take it. And I know Patti would never take Mme. Thenardier, but she would be hilarious!
What about Annelise van der Pol for Eponine?
The set for this show is extremely awkward. It's a super narrow proscenium, and the stage is really deep. The sight lines on the side are terrible. The set pieces are way too big for the small stage, and the stage is always way too crowded with these huge imposing wood structured set pieces that reconfigure into barricades. It worked for a tour, but I wouldn't call this Broadway material.
Is Carol Lawrence too old for Fantine?
What about Vicki Lawrence?
They can play The World Famous Fantine Sisters!
I just always think it's wrong to bring a tour onto Broadway. It will always come off as "cheap" compared to the other shows. And with something like this which thrived primarily on it's "spectacle," it seems strange to make it lack so much of that spectacle.
Can't Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner play the Fantine sisters?

John Owen Jones or Anthony Warlow as JVJ please.
They are in a completely different league than Ramin Karimloo.

A part of me really wants to see Rowan Atkinson play Thenardier...
