Is there any chance that this will be recorded for a DVD release with it being a benefit concert, or is this not even a possibility? I live in the UK and would LOVE to see this but there is absolutely no chance that I will get over to New York at that particular time.

So now we get cast reunions eight years later? What a world. When the original cast of Company reunited twenty-three years later, THAT was an event and actually meant something.

PASSION reunited 9 years later, INTO THE WOODS 10 years later. I agree a 23 year reunion sounds like a true event, but this doesn't seem THAT unusually short.

This isn't even the ORIGINAL cast from the FIRST production.

As usual, the Roundabout is out to make a quick buck. I would gladly go see such a wonderful cast perform ASSASSINS again, but not to sit in the last row of Studio 54 for $150. I'm not denying non-for-profits benefits and fundraisers, but at least put 'em on with some class.

"Okay, so Chita's supposed to be really good, maybe even spectacular, in a NEW Kander and Ebb show not been seen in New York in a full production, based on a classic play, with Terence McNally as librettist to boot, but instead, we'll give her the third lead in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD." - Roundabout Theatre Company at their finest

But it's $150 for the rear mezzanine! It's not like it's Ethel Merman, Hume and Jessica, Richard Burton and Laurette Taylor in ASSASSINS. I go to the theater all the time, but where are you people getting the money for this?

Anyone else more in love with the Original Cast as opposed to this one? I LOVE the original album and there is a menace to it that is lost, to me anyway, on the new recording. How I wish it WAS the Original Cast reunion

^ I agree. I certainly enjoy the 2004 recording, especially with the edition of "Something Just Broke." But the 1991 Off-Broadway company, for those of you who haven't heard the album, is remarkable in every way.

I am ECSTATIC about this news. This closed just a few weeks shy of my moving to New York and I have always regretted missing this production. Adding salt in the wound, I attended one of Sondheim's conversations when "Finishing the Hat" was released in 2010. When asked by the moderator which production of his musicals the composer would see again tomorrow, Sondheim replied "I would see [Montello's] Assassins tonight."

I only HOPE that this will be the full production, sets and all, (which seems to be the case judging from the press release) and not some abridged version.

Worth the $150...may even spring for the after party.

Why? Why would I shell out $150 for a production that I already saw? Besides, you couldn't pay me to sit through Mario Cantone butchering those exquisite monologues again...

I'd rather see a bunch of nobodies do a concert of this show than pay that much to see the revival cast. I loved the production, but not for $1000 just to watch them sing it.

I missed the part that said Roundabout was requiring you to buy tickets and attend.

It was right under the part about Roundabout's forced legitimate rape.

Everytime I listen to this album I regret not being able to see this production. If you asked me what shows I would go back in time to see if I had a time machine, the revival of Assassins would certainly be on my shortlist. As such, I gladly paid $150 to see it. (Cheaper than a time machine)

The 2004 revival remains one of the great productions I've seen in the last decade. And it closed prematurely. For some (many?), it might be nice to revisit this extraordinary piece with this wonderful cast.
