I live in Seattle, and am glad to have another pre-broadway try out, but yeah, not that exciting sounding of a show. Also, the theatre it is showing in here, is awful. If you're not in the first 10 rows, forget about enjoying the show.
But I do love me some Brent Barrett. Great voice, and HOT.

Just about any show sounds bad in a one-paragraph summary. That's not an indication of anything. Try it with something like Urinetown or Kiss Me, Kate and it will sound bad, too.
I'm a huge fan of Zippel's lyrics and Wilder's songs for Mulan were wonderful. Not a bad combination at all. Don't know anything about the book writers, though.

Posted: 5/5/05 at 9:14pmI happen to have heard from reliable sources that there are auditions for the part of the rock star who comes to the school and that they're looking for someone younger to play the role. A friend of mine who's an old pro heard some of the songs and said they were fantastic. He thinks it has the potential to be a hit.
