Earlier in this very thread, you mentioned you thought Curry and Ramirez walked through the performances. You've mentioned it in numerous other threads as well, pretty much at every possible opportunity. Can't you let someone offer a differing opinion without having to counter it yet again?

gilliane - Yep. Must have caught them on a bad day. I will, of course, admit that even a seemingly tired performance from Ramirez was fantastic (she and Waddingham are vocal powerhouses). Reason why she won a Tony!

Ladyofthe Lake - creates good discussion. Gilliane is the first person to actually be interested in why I felt that way.

When I saw the original cast - I was so looking forward to seeing Sara but she was out. I'd have to check my old playbill to see who was on that night - I enjoyed her = but still felt disappointed I didn't get to see Sara. I did see her on the Tony's and then I was able to see what I actually had missed. I've got tickets in 2 weeks and I'm hoping Hannah is performing. I've heard she's wonderful.

Re the dancing - Clay has said he's not a natural dancer by any means and I think that's probably been the hardest thing for him to handle. Plus being over 6 feet - his center of gravity is higher, which also makes that part of the dance extremely difficult to do. He was probably concentrating so hard on not tripping anyone on his big feet and praying he'd be able to get up afterwards. Hopefully he's relaxing into the show and the constipated look is gone. I'll be curious to see how this works with him.

Wow, yankee.

I wasn't even there but the mere mention of the "877 393 4448" scatting had me rolling on the floor. I can just picture that. I probably would have lost it had I been there.

I haven't seen SPAM since the original cast, perhaps it's time for a re-visit.

Thanks Yankee. I recently saw the tour in Boston and the cast was a bit weak. The dialogue scenes dragged on a bit. The audience didn't seem to be laughing as hard as they have been in the past times I've seen it. Overall, I had an entertaining night. I'd like to revisit the Broadway cast sometime in the future.

Millie, I've always felt the second act drags a bit (I get the joke in the guards scene after the third "Right, we're not to leave him in the room alone!"), but not enough to write home about. I do see how a tired cast can kill it.

Foa - I think I was the only person in the audience who actually got that (the rest were laughing at her booty shaking). It's such a New York thing, I was surprised to see it incorporated. I see the commercial every day and can't stop laughing!

If that's your intention (rather than to deny the validity of differing opinions), I can respect that. I can only comment with any authority on the performance I saw with Tim and Sara - which was not either of the performances you saw - but from my vantage point, they both looked as if they were having the time of their lives up there. Tim's performance was less broad than most of the others, but his comic timing and expressions were exquisite, and he was the perfect straight man around which the insanity revolved. I don't know if you saw a similar performance and reacted differently to it, or if you were unfortunate enough to catch two "off" nights; I can only say my reaction was completely opposite.
