Britney Spears at The Little Mermaid

Britney Spears at The Little Mermaid

Apparently she took her kids to see The Little Mermaid. Did anyone see her there?

I remember my first post on BWW was about Britney seeing Wicked back in 2005, I think... I also remember getting lots of sarcastic/nasty responses :P.

Aww, Parks. My first post was about Idina Menzel, and I was accused of being an ambulance chaser for joining the board to post about her accident. We've all grown so much. re: Britney Spears at The Little Mermaid

She's actually pretty supportive of theatre and sees it rather regularly for someone from *gasp* Hollywood.

re: Britney Spears at The Little Mermaid

I heard a rumor that she saw In the Heights twice in one week or something like that

Don't feel bad love, my very first post was deleted.

re: Britney Spears at The Little Mermaid

I am surprised no one commented on her outfit choice for the show.

I can't view the picture here, but if you right-click on the broken image and copy the image location, you can paste the link in your browser.

ETA: Now I can see it.

re: Britney Spears at The Little Mermaid

She saw In the Heights once. It was in her documentary "Britney: For The Record". She met the cast after the show and then went out to dinner with someone from the cast afterwards.

Sounds pretty plausible, I'm shocked she was even able to see anything on broadway without being mobbed.

So, so, so very true!! I asked if Jonathan Groff was gay in my first post, and then got scolded. I didn't see what the big deal was....now, I know better.

Apparently she went to ITH twice because she was sweating one of the dudes in the show. I think she hit on him in her special. Believe me, thats the only way I could sit through it more than once-if it might get me a date.

re: Britney Spears at The Little Mermaid

No, Britney didn't date Seth Stewart. She flirted with him on her MTV documentary. Him and Chris Jackson went to dinner with her after she saw ITH. She even tried to get his phone number. :) I heard that she went again before she left NYC.

I work in the Broadway stores across the street from the Lunt. I randomly heard the commotion, I looked across the street and there was Paparazzi and the whole whole nine yards. I don't know how word got out to the photographers that fast that she was there. It took all of 2 seconds to get her sons out of the car and inside the theatre. I was even worse when she tried to leave, she looked really annoyed after the show.
Im not 100% sure but, I heard that people were taking pictures of her during the show. If thats true that's really messed up. She has every right to enjoy the show in peace as we all do.

re: Britney Spears at The Little Mermaid

That Britney special made me sad for her. She can have absolutely no alone time outdoors. She couldn't even walk into her hotel. They had to abort her drop-off and take her another way. She gets little to no solitude and she can't even take a walk. Photographers are one thing, a mob of cameras and fans is another.

I don't remember my first post. Is there a way I can see my past posts?

Oh, duh. I'm out of it today. Anyway, I found it! It was on the "You Know It's Community Theatre When..." thread. I said it's community theatre when the school special ed. teacher is the director. LOL.

I don't remember my first post... and I just joined this month! But I'm happy she took her kids to see "The Little Mermaid". Maybe, someday, they'll become awesome Broadway stars.

re: Britney Spears at The Little Mermaid

Hehe my first post was about the Wicked movie so you can imagine what that was like
I'm glad she took her kids to a show! Its always a good idea to expose kids to theater at a young age! Good for her!
Remember when drama was only on the stage?

There have been a few rumors thrown around about Britney wanting to be in shows. I remember one about her taking over as Ilse in Spring Awakening in the West End.

re: Britney Spears at The Little Mermaid

Well I can tell you all about that. I had two friends in the show and they explained all the ugly details to me. Here goes:

Britney Spears was indeed approached by the producers of the recent revival of Sweet Charity to take over the role of the title character once Christina Applegate(sp?) left the show. The producers were only interested in a big name for the role because of what happened with the almost cancellation of the show during out of town try outs. I won't go into all that mess since I'm sure that most of you know about it. Now, they flew Britney over to NYC where she saw the show and loved it. She even asked to see it a second time the very next day. So the plans were to close the show for about a month to give her time to "properly rehearse" and re-open at a larger theater. Alas, even though Lady Spears was ready and willing and happy to go, her then husband was not. He was not willing to leave LA where his "career" was going to sky rocket. So she declined the offer and the show was closed. End of sad sad sad story.

Wow, I'm pooped.
