Long story short - the grosses stagnated, with little variance from last week in $. Frozens record low attendance will satisfy its detractors, but it will likely recover soon, so I dont think Disney Theatrical will be worried for now...

January is probably the worst month of the year for Broadway, but the productions on at the moment look like they may be able to weather the storm until the market picks up in February...

The holiday weekend probably helped some shows. Tiki Barber gave a slight bump for KINKY BOOTS.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Or maybe it's just a short story?

Down in Florida. I had the impression that the week-end was horrific, with bitter cold temperatures and snow (real or threat?). If so, the grosses were much better than I was expecting. I would imagine that week-end performances that were not sold in advance were probably hindered in terms of late ticket purchases, in which case this looked like an almost very good week to me overall, for January and the actual weather.

Given how freezing cold Sunday was, these grosses look pretty good overall. The lowest average ticket price paid was ~$77 (Band's Visit) which is not bad at all. A few weeks ago there were Bway shows that had average ticket sales per person to less than $50.

And the only reason why The Band’s Visit’s average ticket price is so low is because of the holiday sale that they had which made all mezzanine seats $35 and all orchestra seats $65.

Anastasia moved their Wednesday night show to Sunday night this week on account of the holiday weekend. Seems like that was a good strategy.

I am also glad to see American Son had a good week.
