Posted: 10/15/12 at 5:53pmI think it's making around it's weekly nut right now. It still needs to up it's grosses a little in order for it to recoup. The upcoming holidays should help out Chaplin.

Posted: 10/15/12 at 7:09pmI didn't particularly care for Chaplin but I really am rooting for it. Probably because of how great Rob McClure is.

Posted: 10/15/12 at 7:57pmI hope to visit NYC sometime in December...preferably with snow on the ground. (It doesn't snow in Austin.) I think I would like to see "Once" and definitely "The Heiress". I've seen the film with Olivia de Havilland. Of course, I'd also see my favorite show. from RC in Austin, Texas

I hope Chaplin does well, but with all the new musicals opening in the winter/spring, I hope it doesn't get lost in the shuffle.
I didn't love it, but I respect what they did. Minus the fact that you could see stage hands moving the set. That's just tacky. It's Broadway people. At least put them in costume.

I know that it has been over a year since the 3D re-release of the film, 'The Lion King' happened, but I've noticed that the Broadway show has been the #1 show for many weeks now. I wonder if the re-release helped boost its sales.
"Woha, Nice Work If You Can Get It!!!"
I'm thinking that word of mouth and Matthew Broderick are continuing to help it.

That re-release was an enormous success, and possibly could have helped a bit.
Part of me is glad that Chaplin is solidifying, just for Rob McClure. Another part of me hates to see a work that insultingly lazy and amateurish run.

Posted: 10/17/12 at 7:09pmI also am rooting for CHAPLIN. I haven't seen it, but the fact that its is an original piece of work and not a revival is a plus. Plus, from what I have heard, and the people that I know who have seen it, the audiences really love it. I sometimes think that we theatre people can become jaded and stop rooting for each other. Every show doesn't have to be perfect to be successful. We do it for the audience!
