Dang this is an impressive week for the fall! Really surprised to see so many shows rebound. I'm floored by the Springsteen numbers.

Why is Beautiful up so much? And for Springsteen, that has to be some kind of record. 2 million for only 5 performances? Incredible. So happy to see Broadway thriving.

WOW! $496.72 for average ticket paid! Is that a record?!?!? Also, interesting to see that Springsteen is sold out yet still only reached 98.5% potential gross. I'm guessing they had a number of complimentary tickets?

I know this is old news, but I'm still constantly impressed by Come From Away's numbers. One Tony win, no celebrities, modest budget, not based on a recognizable source material, and it has untraditional subject matter for a musical. And they just recouped! I'm so impressed and happy for them.

Also, technical question:

Springstein sold out to 100% capacity, and considering the demand, I'm assuming there were no discounts. And we know the premiums are crazy. So why did they come in 1.5% under their potential gross? I know it's a tiny percentage, but for a show this popular, it still strikes me as odd. My only guess is that it's a result of industry comps. But still, it seems like the insane premium prices would offset that and push them over 100% gross potential anyway.

Agreed -- what happened at Beautiful this past week? 115.2% attendance? Is it possible to sell that many SRO per performance? Even DEH/Hamilton/Book of Mormon only manage 102 or 103% max.

I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps the $850 ticket price was considered as regular priced tickets and hence if they didnt' have industry comps, it would easily get 100% gross potential. Had they considered those $850 seats as premium priced, then that gross potential percentage would probably be over 175%.

There HAS to be a typo in the Beautiful numbers somewhere.

Are COMP tickets included when the average ticket price is calculated?  Michael Moore's show had an average ticket price of $44  ?

Only two shows down from the prior week, Hamilton and DEH. They're sinking folks, sinking.

Hate to ask a dumb question but does his show get reviewed like any other one on Broadway by the critics?

From my understanding, it won't be reviewed by the critics and they're grumpy they have to pay like everybody else.

Peter Marks is headed to the show tonight for the Washington Post, according to his Twitter feed. I don't know if the Post is paying. It never really occurred to me that Springsteen's performance couldn't be reviewed like any other concert.

It is a typo. The Broadway league reported 99%, but I find it hysterical Playbill, Broadwaycom and Broadwayworld all reported 115%. https://www.broadwayleague.com/research/grosses-broadway-nyc/
