Here Lies Love had their best week in a while yet just posted their closing notice, so their advance must be nonexistent.

Time will tell if this year’s few fall musicals will be next to close.

Grab your torches, head back to camp. Goodnight.

Merrily is still Rolling Along to New Heights!

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

Exactly where my thoughts were. Sad that HLL did $100k+ in sales, but still pulled the trigger.

A tough week for a lot of shows.  I was surprised too at HLL's numbers this week, I wonder if the rumors of its imminent closing spurred people into buying tickets.  They had a pretty high average ticket price too, all things considered.

Word of mouth on this board has been a bit mixed but I had also expected Harmony to be doing better than what it's currently getting.  Hadestown also looks like it's dipping pretty low there.

I wonder if we'll see any weeks in January/February where Merrily is not completely sold out.

Nothing too crazy here.

Some of us might have been too bullish about BEAUTIFUL NOISE's new schedule saving it. If it drops much more it won't be able to sustain. It should get a big Thanksgiving/Christmas boost, but January & February could be especially rough for a show catering to bridge & tunnel crowds and tourists.

After all the hand-wringing around SPAMALOT, it could have started much worse. Much room to improve, but $100K per performance isn't terrible for a first week of previews.

I didn't realize HARMONY has yet to play an 8-performance week. It moves to 8 for its opening week (week of 8/14). Its average price is not good -- better than Spamalot, but it's selling way less tix.

The winter advance for A Beautiful Noise is not good currently. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a late January closing date.

Spamalot had a $74 average ticket. It did better than expected, but that's really low.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
