They put the worng theatre under "Sister Act." It's the Broadway Theatre, not the Broadhurst Theatre. I'm happy that "Sister Act" got off to a good start, and that "Catch Me if You Can" and "Anything Goes" had great grosses.

Wow, rough start for High. I thought that number might be for 1 performance. But for 4...yikes.

They put the correct theatre for "Sister Act."

It also appears that Wonderland is getting a good bit of name recognition from some poor gullible tourists.

The numbers for High are not encouraging.

I also think it's interesting that Chris Rock isn't proving much of a draw.

I wonder if those high numbers for Spider-Man will continue AFTER it comes back from its 3 week hiatus in Late April/Early May.

Poor Addams Family... Great attendance for Sister Act and Baby It's You for their first previews.

Does anyone else think La Cage's days have to be numbered? I'm not an expert in their personal financial situation/contracts, but it seems pretty evident the show's in trouble from the numbers the past few weeks.

I'm putting a bet that La Cage won't make it past April.

^ Rumor has it that its running costs are only $50,000.

I was at La Cage Saturday night in the orch, The Orch looked pretty full I didn't see the mezz but I saw people up their and there was also people in the balcony.
So I guess it's not selling so bad where they have to close off a section (which is encouraging)

MDQ is dirt cheap to run, that's why it's still open. It's been showing up midweek on TDF for the past few weeks though, so maybe they're getting desperate.

La Cage probably won't last until the summer at this rate, which is a shame since it's a wonderful show. Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 3/27

the same reason MDQ is open is exactly the same reason Spiderman is open...tourists buy tickets. Granted Spiderman has much more of a forward advance due to all of the delayed opening dates which i would imagine results in a rescheduling of tickets to later dates. OF course Spiderman is full they have had 6 postponements!! I'd want to keep my ticket and reschedule too after paying over $150 each. To me MDQ seems like the new Rent. Cheap to keep open(if the 50K/week number is correct) and in the same theater no less. Plus it'a a simple story and an easy sell at TKTS.

You can't base how a house is selling from a Saturday night. That's going to be the busiest night of the week for ANY show. Imagine what the audience looks like on a Tuesday or Thursday night...likely at less than 50% full wihich must be discouraging for the actors.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Just came back from my seventh trip to New York and saw many shows, so great to be a person who contributed to this weeks grosses, saved in favourites as a nice reminder of my trip.

Poor tourists who shell out lots of money thinking they getting a great Broadway show, only to end up in 'Million Dollar Quartet'.
