Glad to see CURTAINS go up. I really hope they get to recoup. It'd suck if it were another Kander & Ebb show that runs for a while yet never gets to recoup.
SUNDAY and IN THE HEIGHTS are doing pretty well. How neat.

Good to see Sunday In The Park With George doing well. I'm glad that Passing Strange had a nice increase too. Hopefully it's numbers will continue to go up. South Pacific seems like it's off to a good start as well.

Posted: 3/10/08 at 4:08pmHow does Gypsy have 2 weeks of grosses? What am I missing?

For Gypsy, the chart for some reason is using the final week's gross of the Bernadette Gypsy as the previous week's gross for the current production. Weird.

Luvinbroadway, Gypsy did 3 previews last week. (Friday night, 2 on Saturday)
What?! The first preview was on the 3rd, and the chart shows more than one week of performances. What Smaxie says sounds right.

Great to see Passing Strange increasing like that.
And Grease is at 90%, with so many great options in theaters right now, how are so many people going to see that?
re: Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 3/9#11
Posted: 3/10/08 at 5:58pmI was about to ask about Gypsy too. Their first performance was a week ago. That explanation makes sense, though.

Posted: 3/11/08 at 8:50amSUNDAY and SOUTH PACIFIC are running through their subscriber tickets right now. We won't know how they will do with a regular ticket buying audience for a few months.

My nine year old loves the movie, so when she found out it was on Broadway.....that's my guess, the children are dragging their parents (kicking and screaming in my case).
