I'm still in shock that HAMILTON regularly grossing $3 Million a week is a regular thing now.
I'm also kind of shocked that SIX DEGREES isn't doing better on the whole.
Good to see that WAR PAINT didn't take too much of a hit with LuPone out...

Groundhog Day's gross total has been rising, and I'm so glad. I hope the good reviews help them gross even more. War Paint also took a big jump this week, good to have another show in the millionares club! But oof, none of the plays this season has really caught on, even with some of them having stars.

Those are great numbers for War Paint! Who knows if it can sustain that, but it's certainly off to a strong start.
Shame about A Doll's House, Part Two. Hopefully positive reviews will help as well as the word of mouth. The word has been almost uniformly good among everyone I know who's seen it.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

SIX DEGREES's poor numbers is the fault of marketing. If I didn't go on this message board I wouldn't have a clue that it was running.

Right now the numbers for BANDSTAND are slightly worse. Plus they have a larger cast. We'll see once the reviews come out.

For real though, screw "name recognition." AMELIE and BANDSTAND aren't perfect, but they're pretty good shows- yet they may undeservedly close before Charlie...Factory simply because the latter has a huge advance thanks to name recognition.
Audiences are in for a rude awakening from what I can see...

I think a large reason for War Paint's good numbers despite Patti being out was the policy they had for her attendance. Audience members were offered a refund/rescheduled tickets OR to stay and see the show and come back to see it again at a future performance with Patti, as per someone's image posted on these boards last week. I assume many people opted to see the show and come back which is why they didn't suffer a huge loss.

I think it's too early to say. Certainly plenty of shows have limped on with worse numbers. Unless I'm reading the grosses incorrectly, it seems like Bandstand has an edge on the number of people seeing the show, but those people are paying less for their tickets than the ones going to see Amelie. It depends what the weekly nut is and if they've got some great advertising push in them.
It's not a new thought but I really didn't anticipate the success of A Bronx Tale and Come From Away. Good for them.
I know, subscriber house and all that, but aside from Oslo the plays are getting slaughtered. Well, I guess Present Laughter is doing solid business. Maybe it's the tone. The plays that come off as serious (again, minus Oslo) are faring worse than the ones that appear comedic (Present Laughter, The Play That Goes Wrong).

Bandstand hasn't yet played an 8 show week. Plus, I imagine that they had a lot of press comps in last week. Between the two, if I were an investor, I would hope my money was in Bandstand. It is on an upward trajectory pretty consistently.

I believe they've got some staying power in them. At least through the summer, no? Karl has become quite the champion spectacle for them and their grosses keep climbing.
I am impressed with Oslo and Bandstand. Bandstand, for their creative team taking the reigns and making changes for the better from Papermill and slowly but surely growing their grosses. And Oslo, for climbing quite substantially in grosses after an Off-Broadway run last year to the same subscriber base. I think the word is out in how good that show is.

I am surprised that "Little Foxes" has not done better at the box office.

The commercial has been running constantly on TV at all hours of the day and night --- so it's kind of inconceivable that you wouldn't have had any clue. I've also received several direct mail pieces --- so I don't know what else you would have them do, short of having Alison Janney come knocking at your door!

It also might take another couple of weeks to see a real bump from positive word-of-mouth from the reviews for something like GHD (and, honestly, the publicity of AK going on despite a pretty severe injury, and maybe even the really good notes that Andrew Call has gotten as the understudy.) I'd argue it's got more staying power than you might think.
