TERMS OF MY SURRENDER did $200,000 for only 2 performances --- very impressive!

I'm impressed with the numbers for Aladdin, Kinky Boots and Phantom! Wow.

Great Comet: 98% capacity for weeks, still at risk for closing. It takes a lot of performances at 100% cap for a show to recoup, everyone.

They're at risk for closing because apparently they have no advance after Michaelson leaves. Malloy called the numbers catastrophic

Still amazed at Come From Away. I hear so very little and see so little marketing and publicity and yet...

That's quite a drop for A Doll's House, Pt 2. Looks like it'll become a prime example of what Tony wins can do for a show, but only until the winners leave. Those are brutal numbers if they continue for the rest of the extension.

As was noted above, the advance is apparently non-existent, which implies that if they retain 98% capacity it will probably be at the cost of significant additional discounting. They are already at only 84% of potential gross and grossing 900k. What's the weekly nut? I can't imagine it's less than 7-something even without a headliner as it's a big cast..

Ouch DOLL'S HOUSE. It's a shame INDECENT didn't extend further.

Ain't no way Doll's House is lasting until January.

A true word of mouth success. I think this is the 5th week in a row they've posted their highest gross.

Come From Away is doing fantastic, and with such a low nut. I hope it sparks a trend of less expensive shows that have more room to be successful.

I know I know, and especially knowing the production, its operating costs aren't cheap. It just defies what seems logical -- you'd think a show selling almost all of its seats every night shouldn't be closing. Once you run the numbers... you realize you're losing money.

When I said that the recasting of A Doll's House was going to kill the show, I was met with a lot of hate, but the grosses agree with me. It probably won't make it till January.
The Great Comet will see a huge drop after August 13. They have basically no advance. It's hard for me to imagine that won't close before the end of August.

Capacity isn't a measure of anything. How much those people paid to see the show is the issue. The show can close with a high capacity if the per-seat average keeps going down and down. But as has been stated already, the drop-off is after Ingrid leaves, not now.

Not surprised at the large drop for A Dolls House Part 2. I figured that if you were going to see it you'd see it with Metcalf unless you were a fan of Julie White. I am however surprised that Ingrid Michaelson had that many fans who would go to see her on Broadway.

^I didn't even really know who Ingrid was, but she seems to have a huuge following.

Yeah same. When my gf and I saw it for a second time I broke the news that Brittain would be out (gf loves her) but told her some indie singer was taking her place. Told her the name and she freaked out. Had never heard of her, she was great in the show though

i knew of her and the type of music she sang but after listening to her performing it with Brittain on youtube, I thought she was great and wanted to check it out. I will admit though, knowing that she was her forced replacement takes some of the magic out of it.

Ingrid may have been as unaware of the situation as Mandy was...

I've seen the show twice and the audience was more than half empty both times. I'm kind of surprised that it's still going.

I too am surprised at how much Ingrid has bought in alone. That's why I think we shouldn't rule out Rainn Wilson or whoever if they bring someone else in, they may be the same unexpected surprise in boosting grosses.

With Ingrid's success in Great Comet, maybe she could move on down the Broadway itinerary and jump into Waitress, which I'm sure would love another star.

When I first came upon this board, the million dollar club was a big deal. Now a days it seems to be the norm. Glad for the shows, but ouch to my credit card.
