That Penn and Teller drop makes no sense, as when i kept looking to return, the lack of anything resembling a decent seat, and the majority of the Orchestra, Mezzanine, and Balcony being sold out is what kept me away... the days I was looking to go, there were less than 25 orchestra seats left each time.
Man, Mamma Mia is doing really well! Why is it closing again? Guess interest peaked after the closing announcement. Not a great week overall...

^ It's only doing well because it's closing. That's the way it works.
We know GGLAM isn't making its nut, anybody know about Hand to God and Jersey Boys?

Hand To God is 270K so there JUST barely making their nut.
Hand to God's running costs are $270,000/week. So it's just making under that.

Does that include advertising costs? If not- Nut must be closer to 300,000. Neverland and Rotten will continue to drop. The hoopla for Rotten is fading.
If HTG's nut is $270k, then they are losing >$25k this week. If it is more like $250k (and they may be adjusting ad buys, although that can be counterproductive), then they are marginal. Remember that the reported gross is the gross gross, not the net gross.
I'm surprised 5,000+ bought tickets to see Amazing Grace

Is this the first week that Neverland dropped below a million?
Also, Jersey Boys' nut is a little less than 500 so they are still making money. I feel like Gentleman's Guide would also have the sum running costs even they they apparently reported that it costs almost 600 to put on the show which i don't believe for a second.

Hedwig had a slight bump, while most shows saw a significant drop.

It made no sense to me either, so I asked someone I know about it who is very close to the show (and very reputable.) He told me that he number is very wrong, and that the show was up over $100,000, not down almost $270,000, so it grossed over $1.5 million.

That figure appears to be wrong. The Broadway League apparently sent out the wrong figures for Penn & Teller. The NY Times report about the grosses includes the following correction: Correction: August 17, 2015 An earlier version of this post referred incorrectly to the box office gross for "Penn & Teller on Broadway," using data provided by the Broadway League. The show took in $1,555,706, not $1,153,386.

Yes, this is the first week that Neverland has been under $1m.
of course it would be the week i saw it lmao
Raisedonmusicals,
I'm not following what you are saying. What number is wrong?
Assuming the $270k nut is correct (and I am inclined to take Kevin's word for that) then the dollars toward recoupment through this week's frame is about $531k plus the unspent cap of $600k for an aggregate of $1131k or about 28% recoupment.
Hogan, i think the refetence was to penn and teller and not hand to gd.

OK, that makes sense. It wouldn't follow the usual patterns for a show like P&T to make less in its final week...

thanks ggersten. It's always nice to have a tour guide for BWW when you get lost on the wrong path.

Right! Somehow, in attempting to quote haterobic's post, I quoted a different post. Not sure what happened there.
