"Pippin" bump probably had a lot to do with Andrea Martin too.
Wonder why "If/Then" got such a bounce? I know Idina missed some shows last week, so it was down, but not $100K+. Is the new schedule with the Sunday night performance giving a lift?

Posted: 9/15/14 at 3:26pmKeke Palmer and Sherri Shepherd helped boost 'Cinderella'. Hopefully, both of them and Nene Lakes will help the show recoup during its final months. I'm curious to see how 'Les Miserables' will do during the fall season since it is a popular show for tourists.

"Wonder if the bump for pippin was because of Ciara leaving? "
Certainly not. Just a coincidence. She is not famous.

Well then, that must be the explanation. The other shows probably got bumps as well because they couldn't remember which show she was in.

Posted: 9/15/14 at 4:46pmI've been thinking about revisiting both Cinderella and Pippin recently. I originally saw both in previews. Anyone have a suggestion of which one is more enjoyable these days re: the new casts?

Posted: 9/15/14 at 5:15pmHaving seen Cinderella last wendsday with keke and Sherri and having seen pippin again last month I would say see Pippin!

Posted: 9/15/14 at 5:21pm^Ethan231h is always promoting Pippin as much as he can. While I LOVED both I would say Cinderella, what with the new exciting casting and it closing soon. I think Pippin will be around for awhile, but you could be fine with both.

Posted: 9/15/14 at 6:35pmArgh, why does Rock of Ages (no capitalization, it doesn't deserve to be called a show) keep holding on after all these years? Just as I think it is about to close, the grosses go up considerably!

'Argh, why does Rock of Ages (no capitalization, it doesn't deserve to be called a show) keep holding on after all these years?"
Because lots of people still enjoy it. Here's a better question, why are people like you unable to simply say I didn't enjoy a particular show and leave it at that and instead have to feign actual pain and physical discomfort that it is still running. It's not like they are breaking into your house and forcing you to listen to them.

Yeah, so... Your opinion was that you didn't like ROCK OF AGES (capitalized because it is a successful, long running Broadway show). We got that. Obviously, it's your opinion and not a fact as it's been running for 5 1/2 years. But you still didn't answer the question as to why certain people view a show having the temerity to continue to run even though they didn't like it as some sort of personal affront. You didn't like it. Lots of other people did and do and as a result it continues to run. Get over it.

Posted: 9/15/14 at 9:38pmI am upset that it is still running because most of the time when I go see a Broadway show I have to look at that marquee and relive the horror of seeing that "musical" for the first time. I am angry that it is still running because the Helen Hayes is my favorite theatre on Broadway and the fact that new and (possibly) good work isn't getting an opportunity to be presented and instead the beautiful theatre has to be desecrated with that insult to musical theatre is something that pisses me off!

did Rock of Ages even recoup yet? Someone mentioned on another thread that the producers are waiting to pull the plug on the show. lol and omg yes newintown i completely agree with you on Ciara's performance!! If it were between Pippin and Cinderella, i would probably choose Pippin but both of those shows are getting a bit dull in my opinion.
