Wow, nine shows with grosses in the 40's (percentage wise)! I am amazed at Aladdin's grosses. Is the show that good? "Chicago" is doing fairly well.

Looks like I was right last week about CHARLIE. The advance has finally dried up, and the reviews and bad word of mouth are reflecting in the grosses.

There was a press announcement last week that Charlie is selling tickets until December 2018. LOLOL. Go.Cats and Miss Saigon. Close those old crappy British relics.

Does anyone know if its a practice for producers to sell tickets, notice that advanced sales are weak past a certain point and then use that data to set a closing date?

I am asking because it seems quite common for shows to add a block of tickets only to then close early.

Come From Away is just shocking to me. How are they doing it every week?

I think Come From Away is proving that Good Word of Mouth is still the best way to sell tickets.

Honestly, investing in a show that makes an absolute killing like Wicked is as rare as winning the lottery. In fact, between the big lotteries and scratchies, more people probably win big at the lottery every year than produce shows that make a killing. But when it pays off... boy does it pay off. I'd be quite happy with an extra $10k rolling in every week from Wicked.

I'm honestly not that concerned about Waitress right now. It's already long-recouped (which makes it the only show that the draw of Hamilton wasn't able to financially decimate), and I'm pretty sure they made a nice nest egg during Sara Bareilles' tenure.

I think the Weisslers know what they are doing. They are shrewd producers and I can't imagine they don't have a plan to keep the show running with stars and/or decent-caliber Broadway actors. I'm not saying it will run as long as Chicago, but I can't imagine this closing before Labor Day of next year unless sh!t really hits the fan

Maybe Canadians are filling all of the seats...

I joke, of course (though, there were a good number of Canadians when I went to see it!). I'm happy that it's getting the traction that it is :)

I don't understand why some folks look at this week and last week and make broad generalizations, when the data to support a long range generalization is a click away. E.g., Waitress is not continuing to decline: it had a major decline and it is now statistically flat at a different plateau. And Beautiful is actually doing significantly better than it had been, if one goes to the trouble of looking beyond a one week dip.
