Let me say I’m all for this… that being said, I have a trip planned for the week of 12/26 to see two shows with my unvaccinated daughter (who is under 12 and unable to be vaccinated at this time). I’m a little concerned given what I’ve read about availability of vaccines by then as well as current timing around getting PCR and rapid tests (though this may not be great information… you know Google). Is it reasonable to believe I could get a rapid test and results on two separate days on Christmas-NYE week in the city? Or should I consider a reschedule for whenever I can get her fully vacc’ed (one of our shows is The Music Man)? Appreciate the input from anyone in the city or with insight. :)

Nope. No logical reason to drop vax mandates. It may be that they only spot-check vaxes at the door or charge a fine if they discover someone in an establishment without a vax, but this isn't going away.
This will cut into Christmas business .The homeless around midtown are a turn off also. Sitting in a cramped seat with a mask is not my idea of enjoyment .
This will come back once all the restrictions are lifted. We make this sacrifice while the government released 12,000 plus Haitian refugees into the country with no Co Vid shots .Many will make there way here. .Why the double standard?
My wife and I are fully vaxxed .We both have antibody protection and our primary doctor told us a booster for us is not needed now. We wear masks only if we must to enter a store. At times we will avoid those stores and find one where a mask is optional..We try and eat outside where possible . Wife is bored wanting things to do. She suggested Broadway but the thought of wearing a mask the whole show and walking in Times Square and using the subway has killed that idea for her .

All theatres in the West End have someone doing that and I’ve been surprised so far I haven’t seen one Broadway house until tonight doing it."
They were doing this in the orchestra at the Walter Kerr last week too."
Also at Lehman Bros (Nederlaner), but they were not standing at end of aisle by the stage during the performance. She walked up & down aisle. I initially wondered if it was a drink/snack menu. I couldn't even read the sign. Looked like it was attached to an ice cream stick.
The theater was wonderfully cool. I'm guessing they wanted it cooler because the cast wore those long coats throughout performance.
Just came from a trip to see Hadestown and at this point I’m guessing my next NYC/Broadway trip will probably be next summer (I’m going to be in the wedding of a high school friend in NJ in July so I’ll be not far from NYC), so I’m very much hoping (and fairly optimistic) that requirements will be lifted by then, especially mask wearing. I’ve been fully vaccinated for several month and am 100% supportive of that, but I eagerly await the day I can watch a show without having my face covered...
you found your heart but left a part of you behind <3
