Broken set?

I caught bits and pieces of a conversation among theatergoers at "Travesties" about a show shat had been delayed more than once because the set wasn't operating properly. I thought I saw something on the boards here about it, but wasn't really paying attention. So, curious to know which show is having those problems.

I'm pretty sure this has happened tho more than one show. I believe Spider-Man for pushed back sure to set malfunctions.

OP is referring to current show(s) having broken set issues.

There are more than a handful of threads talking about shows that had endless amounts of broken set issues during previews.

While I am not sure if this was a set issue, the matinee of Mean Girls yesterday started thirty minutes late due to technical difficulties.

Nothing moves in that show?

When I saw Ghost it was held for set issues, and this was after it opened.

There was a brief hold during My Fair Lady because the set was stuck upstage. For anyone who's seen the show, that massive set rotates and moves up and downstage multiple times. I'd be interested to know how that's going to hold up throughout its run.

About a week or two ago someone mentioned that one of the drops in Carousel might have had a tear in it. Not sure if this is the problem you’re thinking of, though

Three Tall Women and The Iceman Coneth both had their first preview cancelled. And I believe someone posted during previews that Three Tall Women had an one hour delay before they decided to cancel the show.

Broken set?

Thanks, everyone. I have a feeling they were talking about either Mean Girls or My Fair Lady.

I was at a preview of La Cage Aux Folles in 2010 when there was some sort of set failure. So Kelsey Grammer sat down on the edge of the stage and told stories for what had to be 20-plus minutes. Anyone else remember that? I know he was quite entertaining, but can't recall specifics.

Off-Broadway Yerma had to cancel due to a technical issue.
