Burt Bacharach has passed away at 94

Songwriter, composer, producer and arranger Burt Bacharach, a dominant force in American popular music for half a century, died of natural causes in Los Angeles on Wednesday. He was 94.

Bacharach’s publicist Tina Brausam revealed the news on Thursday.

As a tunesmith, the nonpareil melodist Bacharach found fame in every medium.

It's a shame (and a mystery) that he never received a Kennedy Center Honor. Thank god they were able to induct Lin Manuel Miranda before it was too late!!

HAMILTON was awarded a Kennedy Center Honor. As part of the creator of HAMILTON, he received his award. He nor his career nor his past body of work was awarded. There was no star-studded tribute given to him exclusively. Geez.

Yes I'm quite well aware of that, thank you -- and the fact that it happened is even MORE ridiculous in light of the deserving artists who have not received such an honor.
