I need a favor. A BIG Favor.
What all props can you think of that the show would averagely need? We are doing it as our spring musical and do to scheduling conflicts we have to knock the show up to weeks earlier than what we thought. Being in a frantic mind I don't want to over see anything. So if you see something I forgot PLEASE let me know! THANKS SO MUCH!
o Rolladex
o Old Rotary Dial Phones (We need quite of few of these and you probably wont get them back.)
o A Pill Bottle (It will be spray painted or you can send in one with no label)
o Knitting Materials (It won’t actually be used)
o Plaid Table Cloth
o Vintage Cameras
o Black Briefcase and older looking luggage
o A Wheelchair
o A small table lamp
a couch and a bed?
Maybe I should add that we don't need furniture. We have connections to a HUGE store.
But thanks!
ahh. i'm just brain storming.
we did BBB three years ago.
i think you've pretty much covered it though.
Well thanks for your help! I appreciate it! Anyone else?

I saw a production of BIRDIE that used plywood cut-outs of telephone receivers. They were painted in Dayglo colors and whenever Harvey Johnson had his lines the stage blacked out except for blacklight and a pinspot on Harvey. It created a good stage picture because all that could be seen was Harvey surrounded by telephone receivers. Try it.
THANKS SO MUCH! Our director is going through ALOT so we are trying to take some of the load off of his hands!

Just out of curiosity how are you connected to the show. You mention the director is “going through a lot” so I assume you’re not the director. Are you in the show? If so who are you playing?
I played Harry McAfee in a college production decades ago. He needs a pea shooter which he asks for during his pursuit of Conrad when the latter is out with the teenage crowd. I had the time of my life in this very funny show. Basically I played it the way Paul Lynde did, having seen him in the OBC. McAfee and Mae Peterson have the best lines in the show. We kept breaking up the cast during rehearsals. I hope you're having fun with your production.

I did this show last fall and Conrad had a microphone for Honestly Sincere, and you need a beer/soda bottle too for the breakfast scene with Conrad and the MacAfees.
an oven, a note that is dripping wet(we took a hanky and wrote on it and had it sit in a baggy of water in her purse) food, tv tray or small table, ice pack, thats all I can think of that you didn't list...I just assistant directed a production of this in Feb

I've seen "Telephone Hour" done with just the "receiver" part of the phones - no bases. That way, you usee the receivers from touch tone phones.
For The Ed Sullivan Show sequence: vintage television cameras. You could use real video cameras housed in a faux cardboard vintage television camera looking contraption and have a 'live' feed on TV monitors placed around the stage. The Broadway production of The Who's TOMMY and JERSEY BOYS used/use this quite effectively and its a simple hook-up, too.
I'm currently playing the role of Mr.MaCafee. But being the oldest one in the production, one of the most experienced I've tried to help out the director was much as I can.
By the way this means alot to me-all you guys helping!
