Hi all - I've been looking around for photos and/or videos of the original production of Bye Bye Birdie. Do any of you know of a site that would have a ton of them? Is there a website that archives this kind of thing? Thanks! :)
I have the original souvenir program of the original 1960 Broadway cast with TONS of fabulous photos.
Unfortunately, they are at home in Florida and I'm on shoot in California till the end of the month so I can't scan them for you right now.
At least you know they DO exist.
Oh wow! That would be awesome! I'd be so grateful for that BrodyFossse123! :)
There are at least three video clips of the original Broadway cast floating around online from the Ed Sullivan Show: "Spanish Rose", "Put on a Happy Face" and the first Macafee kitchen scene when Birdie is living in their house.
I've seen those wildcat. I suppose wishing for anything else would be wishful thinking!
Well there is tale of the entire original production being filmed when Columbia pictures was thinking about making a movie of the show. Chita & Dick have said they remember very well the show being filmed. So if that ia true, odds are that if it even still exists, it's locked up in a vault somewhere at Columbia and it will never see the light of day.

It would be amazing if they released that on DVD, not just for my sake but I'm sure many many people would love to see it!
It's not much but if you peruse the Sony Broadway Masterworks site there are photos of the original cast in the recording studio recording the album.
Google gave the ones below but this link has fabulous color photos that I can't link, unfortunately.

I love those pop art set pieces. Great pics! Dick Gautier was a hottie back in the day. Wish he had been in the film.
I would love to see that "100 Ways to Kill a Man" ballet; it's still in the published score, but I've never seen it in a production (and I've seen several).
@BrodyFosse123 - Thank you SO much!! I love these!!
And @newintown - I would love to see it as well!! I've youtubed it several times and there are a few productions that have done it but not as well as it could be done IMO.
And @CarlosAlberto - i will definitely check out the masterworks site!
