Hey, I just got a gift certificate to the Hippodrome in Baltimore, Maryland for Christmas. I was wondering, should I see the 25th Ann. Tour of CATS? Or should I just see Joseph instead? I haven't seen either, and I know more of the music from Joseph, but CATS looks interesting.
"People have their opinions and that doesn't mean that their opinions are wrong or right. I just take it with a grain of salt because opinions are like as*holes, everyone has one".

Only see CATS if you get comps and have absolutely nothing else to do that night.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks." Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Both shows kinda well...suck, but unless you'd like to enter the strange and complicated part of Lloyd Webber's brain you'll never want to see again...go and see that damned Technocolor Dreamcoat!
dont kill me but i say cats, i havent seen the tour but i actually liked the shows in the productions ive seen. Joseph always seemed so boring
Yes, I know my profile name is spelled incorrectly. That's what happens when you don't spell check and just push done. I wear it as a reminder to spell check.
I think if you are a huge, huge, huge, i seriously mean huge cat lover, you may enjoy CATS, but I think that Joseph is much better. I've seen both and Joseph is better by far.
~Now I'm standing centre stage, I'm at home at last!~
The story is easier to follow. I just got Cats on DVD and I had to watch it twice before I could get what was going on... I guess it's because I wasn't familiar with the show (shame on me). BUT if you really like ballet/jazz/'lil bit of tap, you'll like Cats. If you're looking for some really fun songs, go with Joseph!
