That help, dubbed the Save Our Stages Act, is part of Congress’s $900 billion COVID-19 relief package announced Sunday. As of midday Monday, lawmakers were racing to finalize the legislative text to send it to President Trump’s desk before government funding lapses at midnight. The money set aside for the Save Our Stages Act would assist live music and theater venues, independent movie theaters, and other cultural institutions.

I'm not even sure he'll pass this as long as he is in office. At the very least he is advocating for higher direct payments.

He's not really advocating for higher payments, he's trying to make Mitch and the rest of the now "traitorous" Republican Senators squirm. If the direct payment had been higher in the bill that was being sent to him then he would scream about how it was too high and they shouldn't have caved. He's attempting a scorched earth since, though he won't publicly admit it, he knows he's not going to be in the White House after January 20th.
Additionally, some of the extra funding he is attacking is the funding going to things like the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian.

The Kennedy Center employs 725 "everyday Americans" directly and many many more indirectly. Trump's budget proposal included $40M for the Kennedy Center, so it's strange that he's complaining that the thing he asked for is what was in the bill.

the KC funding is not "extra." It's the regular funding. Everyday Americans may be more important than the KC but it is not a zero sum game. And of course the sick, spiteful old man doesn't give a rat's a$$ about everyday Americans. In fact he has committed genocide against them. To put this in context, the psychopath Assad has killed about 83,000 of his own people. The psychopath being kicked to the curb on Pennsylvania Avenue has killed over 300,000 of his own people from covid alone. So Roxy, what's your point?
