It’s clear that some entities (like big barns with huge balconies that rarely sell out) are “scalping” their own tickets on Stubhub. I think someone referred to it as showBIZ earlier this week.
Does anyone have any experience with exchanging tickets at The Public? Obviously I know this show is sold out, but I have a ticket for Friday 5/27. Based on the current lineup for my trip, I would prefer to see Suffs on Thursday 5/26. I've been watching the site, and several tickets are popping up for random dates. If I get lucky and see Thursday randomly pop up, does anyone know how lenient the theatre would be with a date exchange?
Exchanges are allowed, and you're also able to return your tickets on your own and have a credit placed on your account immediately, which you can then use for the new date. If you go into your account, there's a "Return My Tickets" option listed under your existing order.
In some instances, scalpers will incorrectly gauge the level of demand that will exist and in effect, provide box office support that a show would otherwise not be receiving. When I saw The Band’s Visit in late 2017, the secondary market was flooded with excess supply, which enabled me to buy a seat well below face value. Zooming out, profits they’re deriving elsewhere certainly offset these sorts of losses, but I feel this is a case in which they’re doing some good.
I have 1 extra ticker to Suffs on 5/12 at 7:30pm, willing to sell it for what I paid for $133, including fees. The run is sold-out, so this is a good opportunity to catch the show!
Let me know if interested. I can digitally transfer the ticket, and the QR code to enter doesn't get generated until the day of the show.
I have 2 tickets for the Saturday matinee 5/14 that I am going to need to sell. Just looking to get back what I paid. Anyone know where else I can try to sell them? If anyone here is interested please let me know.
