Umm... that's exactly what it represents. That's why the emcee strips down to concentration camp garb at the end... everyone who stayed behind...

I'll answer!!
At first, I was like "no way. He's never gonna pull this off." Then I began to hear how great he was, and got more and more excited. Adam BLEW MY MIND. I was so so so SO proud of him for pulling off such a role SO beautifully. His facial expressions were absolutley priceless, and his portrayal was funny when it needed to be an serious when it needed to be, and just FULL of emotion. He was phenomenal.

Thanks emcee...I can always count on you to answer my Adam questions!

I'll answer too! Adam was the only Emcee i saw in the role (I wish i could have seen others - Alan and Raul) yet i thought he was wonderful. You could really see all the riskes Adam took and gave it is all. The vocals were great, and the was dead on. Also - you got to see him in a kick line. What more could you want.

Oh, you saw more than that!!
LOL, really. I was so impressed. He really got to just let loose with the role, and was clearly having a wonderful time. I was so proud of him.

I could NOT stop lauging. His character was so funny, in a weird sort of way. And that outfit!! LOL! I was, however, a BIG fan of the leather pants.

haha! The sparkly pants are his OWN doing. The leather pants were for the movie. Still nice, though! Check it out. It's an interesting film.

The revival actually opened at the Henry Miller Theatre which was renamed the Kit Kat Klub for "Cabaret." However, because of a contruction accident on the block of the theatre, they had to halt performances for some time until the area was deemed safe again. The Roundabout Theatre was able to get Studio 54, turn it into a theatrical space, and reopen "Cabaret" there.
And everyone seems to forget to include Rob Marshall (now of "Chicago - The Movie" fame) as the co-director of the production...

I was pretty sure it was the Henry Miller, but I didn't want to post mis-information and my Cabaret book is packed for school. 54 was so perfect for it, though.

luvtheEmcee: I totally agree that Studio 54 was the perfect place to relocate it. I mean the history of the venue itself, combined with the tawdriness of the concept of the cabaret was ideal...

The atmosphere made the show so much more real - it just helped to better the shock factor of the whole thing.
*cries*
I really wish it was still around.
