Just curious if anyone had a chance to see it..wow almost 5 years ago! I've just recently really got into the song "Gold" (by Linda of course), and just wondering what whoever saw it thought about it?
And is "Gold" the last song in the show?
And does anyone else find it more amusing that the show still has a website --
http://www.camilleclaudel.com/
but no info about it on it, except to visit the composer/writer pages?
Does the 11 O'Clock number mean the final song?
Ah and absolutely no one saw it!?

I didn't see it live, but watched the tape at Lincoln Center Library. I think it's Frank Wildhorn's best work. It's so drastically different from his other shows. Have you been listening to GOLD from Linda's "Broadway My Way" album or her "Gold" album? If you haven't heard the version on "Broadway My Way," be sure to check it out. I think that's the best version that she's recorded of it.
Yeah from Broadway, My Way...
It sounds like such a great concept...hwo could it not have made it to Broadway? Did Wildhorn not want to put it there?
And HOW/WHY would the Lincoln Center Library have it? Hahahahaha
I've wondered what happened to that show. It seemed like Linda Eder kept talking about it and talking about it and then . . . nothing. I didn't even know it had had a production. Of course, a lot has changed since then.

This was scheduled to play at Signature Theatre before Covid hit, it was postponed, does anyone know if they still plan to do it ? It was set to star Teal Wicks

Before Covid hit, this was supposed to open at Signature Theatre; does anyone know if it will still go on as planned? Teal Wicks was slated to star in it. wordle today
Signature was indeed supposed to do this but of course Covid closed everything down right before the first preview. The set was up, costumes fitted and everything was ready to go. But so far, Signature has not mentioned trying to do it another time, it's certainly not on next years schedule. I wonder if this is because Eric Schaeffer was supposed to direct this and since the pandemic he has stepped down as director of the company he co-founded.
A big period musical sounds like an expensive thing to shelve! I'm surprised they didn't reschedule it.

The 11:00 number is the penultimate song--the 2nd to last song. Fro example, "Ladies who Lunch" from Company, "No Good Deed" from Wicked, "What I Did for Love" from A Chorus Line.
I don't think there is a solid rule that an 11 o'clock number it has to be "the 2nd to last song." Usually it is followed by some kind of denouement, but that can be a short scene or any other theatrical device to close the play, it doesn't have to be followed by another song.
Think "Rose's Turn" in GYPSY
