Just because, robbiej, you are wearing that glam avatar, don't think that you can seduce away Danny's loyal following.
Danny's fans shall stay the course!
Becca deserves a little Tony bacon on her table!

Oh...I'm good with whoever winning the award. Honestly...it's just the Tonys.
It's not like they really matter...like the MTV Movie Awards.

I thought him ree-dee-cule!
And what a great job of dropping his cane right on cue every time that crazed LP record skips.

Robbie, we should find ourselves a movie so we can totally win Hottest Kiss and Best Onscreen Couple.

I'm SO voting for both of you!
But I prefer the TV Guide Awards.

I would spank you three
For trailing o.t.
But 'twould frankly take
Too much energy
Go Danny! Take it on home, bebe!

I think since Sweeney was one of the most critically praised shows of the entire season, the voting committee will want to give it as much gold as it can. Again, I point to Michael Cerveris in Assassins (ensemble show, Sondheim, Tony Award for Revival) and Dan Fogler (ensemble show, sole representative in category, newcomer, critically praised production). Mano has a huge chance to win this. I'd say he has a slight edge over Dale since Threepenny wasn't well received and didn't get as many nominations.

Bring it home for Becca!
#59re: Will Danny Burstein Bring Home the Tony Bacon to Becca?
Posted: 5/18/06 at 5:57pmThe difference between Assassins/Spelling Bee and Sweeney is that, while this production of Todd was certainly more of an ensemble piece, there are still two definite leads. Add this to the fact that some Toby material was cut (and frankly, he didn't have much of an impact for me), and Felciano's turn isn't really comparable to Cerveris' Booth and Fogler's Barfee (both arguably the "leaders" of their ensembles).

Posted: 5/18/06 at 7:05pmI agree with you, GovernorSlaton, but remember: In this production, Doyle wants us to believe that Toby is the dangerous one, not Sweeney. This production is centered around Tobias (even thought he is not the lead and some material is cut) and I think that gives Mano a chance.

Posted: 5/30/06 at 9:20pmwell. i loved brandon victor dixon the most out of them all, however, i do believe it's between dale and hoff. dale will probably win as he has a lot of support behind his nomination. i thought burstein was hilarious though and definitely deserves the award.

Can he? Absolutely not.
Should he? No, probably not.
Do I want him to, and did I enjoy his performance the most? A big, HELLS YES.
I think it's Jim Dale's, and runner up would be Mano.

I'm putting all my luck behind Mano, hoping for the best, he really deserves this. Granted I only saw him, Danny, and Brandon, but from what I am hearing I think Dale will win, followed by Manoel, then Hoff, then Danny, then Brandon. Thats my prediction, peace out

He is the sweetest man on the planet and he has a great smile.
Check out https://www.corinescorner.com and look at the picture with him and Kevin Mc Kollum.
He is adorable.
Nom, you have great taste!
Personally, I hope it is a tie between Daniel and Danny. I love both.

Thanks for the reminder. 'Cause Doyle could've fooled me. I've seen SWEENEY five times and each time I was extremely underwhelmed and disappointed by the lack of depth in Mr. Felciano's portrayal of Tobias. The production is centered around Tobias? Maybe Doyle was shooting for that, but Toby remains the most forgettable character for me in this production of SWEENEY TODD. Every other performance stood out in its own way, but Toby was practically invisible in this production. Felciano did nothing to differentiate the role from anyone else. In fact, he was the least interesting character in this production. He certainly did not make the role his own. In past productions I've seen (specifically the Goodspeed Opera House production of SWEENEY several years ago), I found myself intrigued by Toby. But not here. Dull dull dull.
I would be thrilled to see Danny Burstein go home a winner, or Jim Dale, or Christian Hoff. I thought Dixon was great, but not a Tony winning performance, per se.

I'll say it again..
Danny is a talented, underappreciated actor. I think the Tony belongs to this man. If not, then Christian Hoff, who for me was the standout in "Jersey Boys" deserves it.

Posted: 5/31/06 at 7:10pmI did not like Manoel Feleciano (SP BIG TIME?!?!) I agree with Wanna Be A Foster because I thought that he was disappointing as Tobias and the part was heavily underacted. I do think that Danny deserves this award. I think that a lot of people like "Mano" because he is attractive. I mean whatever...I just think hes TOTALLY overrated.

Wow by undermining our opinions to simply liking him for looks is one of the most ridiculous things I've heard on here all week.
It is one thing to disagree with what people think, but to degrade their opinions to liking something for reasons a 12 year old would is disgusting. Think what you want, but don't expect me to stoop that low to discredit your opinion.
