I'm gonna go backwards on this one:

Kelli O'Hara (until this weekend) played Clara in Piazza, but in ealier tryouts played Franca. Sarah Uriarte Barry plays her now, and she also played Belle before. Christy Carlson Romano also played Belle...

I shudder at the thought of Christie Carlson Romano playing Clara in Piazza.

Andrea Martin played the Old Lady in the latest revival of Candide. This role was played by Patti LuPone in the recent concert production. Andrea Martin also played Golde in Fiddler, which Rosie O'Donnell is currently playing.

Could Rosie play Evita?

I would pay an ungodly sum of money - and run, not walk - to the theater to see Rosie play Evita.

Especially if they reproduced the poster with Rosie in the big white dress.

Claire Moore Replaced Sarah Broghtman as Christine in London, after that Claire took on Fantine in Les Mis, Originated by Patti LuPone who also originated Norma Desmond, and was followed in that role by Betty Buckley, Therefore Betty Buckley should be able to do Christine in Phantom, lol.

I think Ricki Lake playing Tracy on Broadway would be something to see. She's not really that much older than some of the other actresses who've played the role and her singing voice is wonderful.

It's been a while and the boards have been boring me, so I'm bumping my own game for fun! We should have a lot more to choose from with shows that have come and gone.



John Travolta played Edna in the Hairspray movie and Danny in Grease. Max Crumm currently plays Danny in the revival.

Can Max Crumm slip on the heels for Hairspray?

Reba McIntire took over the role of Annie in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, which was originated by Bernadette Peters (in the revival) and Ethel Merman (in the original). Who also have shared the role of Rose in GYPSY.
Bernadette Peters was also the original Dot in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE in the 80s.

Could Reba McIntire play Dot?

Better yet...Ethel Merman was Dolly in HELLO DOLLY!

Could Reba be Dolly? Could Bernadette be Dolly?

Carol Channing was the original Dolly...who was also a replacement in Wonderful Town.

Could Reba be Ruth Sherwood?

Bernadette was in the original George M! Could Carol Channing be Josie Cohen? lol

Ashley Brown currently plays Marry Poppins, but she did play Belle.
Toni Braxton played Belle, as well as Aida.
Heather Headley originated the role of Aida.
