Did see the show, enjoyed it. Ticket prices a bit high though, so probably not going back to see it again.
Wonder if Stephanie J. Block made it over there yet, if not she's gonna be too busy opening tonight in "Anything Goes". Would have loved her to do a cameo in the "Boy From Oz" segment!
Hugh is just an enjoyable person to watch, lots of energy and an engaging personality. Was a fun, non-stop 2 hours!

I don't think Hugh is trying to "emulate" any of those iconic performers who were costumed and pinned up to within an inch of their lives. His aim is to simulate a party atmosphere: informal, relaxed and real. Yes, real people tuck their shirts in when needed, especially when they've been dancing up a storm. He stated in an interview that he wanted his show to be like one of Frank Sinatra's farewell shows, where he chatted with and thanked friends and show staff. If the idea was to create a fabulous show where the audience feels that anything could happen--such as his donning a wig (I was at that show, too) and flipping it back into the audience with a funny, jerky motion of his head--he has succeeded in spades. Because of the unpredictability factor each show is a little different. I've seen it three times with more visits coming up. I'd rather spend an evening with Hugh than with any other stage performer.

I've only seen the San Francisco opener and won't see the Broadway show till later, but I am already excited knowing that Hugh tries to inject a different atmosphere to each of the shows. He seems to bring a sense of showmanship that marked the great entertainers of the past.
Thanks, Mamaleh, for sharing your experience.

I saw the show on Tuesday night, and I can't emphasize enough how much I didn't care that he wasn't wearing a tie.
I loved it. My parents loved it. The audience certainly seemed to love it. I'm fairly certain we were sitting behind the one woman in the theater who didn't know about the Les Miz movie, because when he said he was doing it, she nearly leaped out of her seat and started flipping out.
It was just a great night - he was funny, the songs were terrific. I missed out on Oklahoma when I was in London back in 1998, so I finally got to hear him sing some of it live (we got a little more that night - he performed "The Farmer and the Cowman" with a guy he pulled up from the audience who'd done a local production of the show), I finally got to hear a version of "Soliloquy" that wasn't that grainy Carnegie Hall version on YouTube. "Tenterfield Saddler" was one of my favorite songs on the Boy From Oz cast album, and I loved finally hearing that one. I loved seeing "Peter Allen" again. (seriously...I don't think I realized how much I missed that show until I saw him again Tuesday night).
That movie medley was outrageously good, and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" just blew me away. We just had a great time, and I'm hoping to see it again.
I saw it last night and really, really enjoyed myself. Hugh is a great talent and he is clearly genuinely thrilled to be performing this material on Broadway. He's wonderful and the show is very entertaining.
Finally saw Hugh Jackman this past Sat night. What a great time! It was really fun. It kind of felt like seeing your friend on stage. It was a really positive experience. Saw four other shows while there. Loved Spiderman, which was shocking. Really, really like Anything Goes and Bonnie and Clyde. I'm still trying to figure out what all the hype about Follies is about. The production as a whole was very well done. Jan Maxwell, rocks! But I found it to rather boring.
Saw Hugh's show again last Sat night, having previously seen it in San Fran. LOVED IT! He's just sooooooo good.
Katie Couric was seated right in front of me and she loved it.

The reviews and word-of-mouth must be doing wonders for the show. It has broken another box office record for the past week, according to its show publicist --
