I like the student lotto idea, mostly because I qualify for it and want to see this show. Here's hoping it stays calm.

thank you, JORDSY !!!!!!!!!
Does he do anything from SUNSET BOULEVARD or BEAUTY AND THE BEAST?
Does anyone know where the lotto tickets are? Also, cash only? Updated On: 10/26/11 at 08:35 AM
Is this the stage door line or the admission/rush/lotto line????
Anyone try stage door-ing? Does he usually do that?

I think the idea for the student lottery came out of wanting to spare young people the agony of having to line up at 5:00 AM in the middle of the winter to get student rush tickets.
I'm seeing the show tonight and can't wait!
It's not a *perfect* show - but it showcases what he does beautifully: charm an audience with his singing, dancing and natural joy and enthusiasm for performing on stage. His audience interaction is always flawless, and you just know that all of this is from the heart.
That's what makes it so special.
And, he looks pretty damn yummy
I'll be interested to hear about any refinement to some of the banter... if they make any revisions before it opens. There were a few places last night that could have been tightened up (and some of the dancers need to polish up a bit), but, none of it mattered, because it was like seeing an old friend perform for other old friends... he's such a natural.
Enjoy! I'll look forward to your review.
The stage door crowd last night was insane.

Anyone have a setlist of the songs he performs?
Yes, Song list and orchestra list, por favore.
Also, anyone have a picture of the "set" / the setup onstage (pref. with the band)?
Does Hugh only sign playbills from this show? I'd love to bring my BOY FROM OZ widowcard and ask him to sign it.
Is the stagedoor Daniel Radcliffe-like crazy.
Thanks for all the reviews from last night! Keep them coming. Can't wait to read more about tonights show. 10 more days till I'm there!

It is so easy to love this man. He was on fire tonight, and in PERFECT voice. Loved his Peter Allen segment, movie musicals segment and, of course, his encore "Once Before I Go."
Some of the patter in Act 1 was a bit cringeworthy, but in no way did it affect my enjoyment of his show as a whole.
These two hours were some of the quickest I have spent in the theater...the show really flowed well and Hugh kept it interesting and engaging. I love the way he interacted with the audience (and even brought a couple of them up on stage!) His stage presence is not something that can be taught and he makes each individual in the audience feel like an old friend.
Looking forward to seeing this again on November 22 (and maybe a third time in December).
Baby, It's Hugh!!
YAY! I'm so glad you loved it! I knew you would. He's incredibly talented and it's so effortless. He's such a natural and has such a grace & style.
Saw it last night - thought it was very good! It's been 7 years since Boy From Oz????? Doesn't seem that long. Show is great as-is, don't see any need for improvements. Wife (BIG Boy From Oz fan - saw it 28 times - crazy year) thought it was good, but not as great as she thought it would/could be. Might go back since I understand the show may change as time goes on, but ticket prices are a bit steep!

The crazy post-show crowds are now handled better as the barricades are set up the long way, parallel to the sidewalk. I've seen Hugh's show twice already and am going back for more. He is easily the most accomplished stage performer I have ever seen. He loves being there, and the sheer joy he radiates revs up the audience. I'm going back for more after a short respite in consideration of my poor, bruised wallet.
There were a LOT of people waiting by the stage door when we came out last night.....
Would like to get tickets for the end of the run to see if it's much different then - will have to see if any discounts pop up...
Was there last night too and really had a blast. Hugh is the epitome of what it means to be a star. He was in great voice, and sure some of the patter was a little lame, but he delivered what was promised: a carefree, entertaining night at the theater.
During the show I kept thinking about how much better almost every musical I've seen over the past three years would have been with Hugh in it. It's interesting to compare him to someone like Cheyenne Jackson. They both are tall, attractive guys who have nice voices, but the comparisons end there. Hugh has that something extra special, that oozing charisma that still knocks you out of your seat in the last row of the mezz. (I was sitting there so I can attest to this.)
I would be remiss if I didn't mention the stellar dancers, including the ever brilliant Kearran Giovanni. The act two movie musical medley is so electrifying, so heart-pounding, so show stopping that I could barely take it! If Chita could get a nomination for "The Dancer's Life" then Hugh needs a nomination for this. If the fools on the Tony committee don't reinstate the special events Tony then I'm in full support at this time of him getting a nomination!
Yeah, this was a ton of fun. Hugh Jackman has got to be the most charming, charismastic performer working today. He's impossible to resist.
I would love to go see this again.
Thanks for the reviews!! Sounds great!
Glad to hear his singing voice is so stellar, should make his turn in the Les Miserables movie pretty impressive!
Will he sign BOY FROM OZ posters?
I'm legit starting to think that Kyle is a 'Miranda Sings' character situation. There's no way anybody can be that unintelligent and self-absorbed.
