Should they really be billing it "A New Musical" when it debuted 10 years ago? The article wasn't clear on if they're making changes.

Gretchen, stop trying to make Bull Durham happen! It’s not going to happen!

As someone who lives in the area, I would love to see this.

"

If I recall, "Annie" didn't remove the branding of "A New Musical" until sometime in the 2000s, but they were also punning on the New Deal, so they had something of an excuse.

Does anyone know the history of the phrase ‘a new musical’? I must admit I’ve always found it very strange.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Bruni is great. For a while i was hearing Warren Carlyle who would have been a disaster as director.

I sadly didn't get to see it in Durham last year. Although I actually did catch Carmen Cusack in concert in Raleigh a couple months ago. She even treated the audience with a few songs from the show, all of which were total bangers. My favorite of the lot would have to be this rousing number titled ‘The Church of Baseball.’
