Caroline, or Change question
Caroline, or Change question#1

OK, so I was looking at a cast list for the show, and I see 3 different names listed as playing "The Radio." I didn't get a chance to see the show when it was open, and now I'm wondering...how did this work? Did they alternate the part?
Any info would be super!!

The Radio was performed by a trio of actresses resembling a black girl-group trio from the 1960's.
Here's Caroline in the basement; the 'washing machine' is represented on the left and the 'the radio' in the middle:

The Radio is my favorite object in the whole show. It's basically a Supremes-like trio but it gets some of the better songs.
"Salty Teardrops" still gives me chills and the trio of Marva Hicks, Tracy Chapman, and Ramona Keller was simply amazing.

I should repost on YouTube.com the entire "Salty Teardrops" number again. It was removed, but hey...2nd time is still the charm.

BrodyFosse123, is the first photo from the London cast?
I saw this show three times in London...absolutely wonderful. Ramona Keller was indeed really great as one of The Radio.

Posted: 7/28/07 at 2:18pmi was lucky enough to see Caroline on broadway. It was great to see Ramona after seeing her here in Denver in Brooklyn. It was also nice to see Marva Hicks. Live, the "radio" blew Salty Teardrops out of the box. (As I was wiping mine after Lot's Wife!)

Posted: 7/28/07 at 3:03pmSalty Teardrops has to be one of the best numbers in any show that year. It still holds the record on my iTunes of Most Listened with I think 85! I used to love that Youtube video that had been up last year or even earlier than that.
re: Caroline, or Change question#11
Posted: 7/28/07 at 3:30pmI agree, C. I think it's the perfect way to follow such a powerful number as "Lot's Wife."

Posted: 8/6/07 at 3:05amCaroline, or Change was clearly the best show of that season.
