Please give them a cast recording.
Maybe that will stop the madness.

No it won't. That will bring on the "If only the show could've stayed running til the Grammy nominations... it's sure to get nominated and that woulda boosted ticket sales and then if it won, the Broadway transfer would have been a definite 100% possibility."
Good. Then maybe...just MAYBE this show can be properly buried.

I can't wait to hear this first cast album and look forward to many more.
Perhaps when it's removed from the context of its mediocre book and staging, people will finally be able to not appreciate its mediocre score.
I hope they record it with a big washy-echoey orchestra, just like the 1950s and '60s.

I'd pay double to own that, actually.
Oh, good. Ghostlight can add $50 to their coffers with this.
Does anyone know when the release date is for this recording? There is very little info on the website.
It seems that this production really illuminated Betty Buckley as the sole reason for the "legendary" status of at least parts of the score. I love Marin Mazzie and her incredible talent to no end, but "Eve Was Weak" and others lost any power and impact without the vocal and acting powerhouse of Ms. Buckley.
I've introduced new people (well person) to Marin Mazzie's "Eve Was Weak" (i.e. they haven't heard Buckley) and they found it powerful. She didn't quite belt the high notes in the song like Buckley did, but I still think it was a powerful performance. I can't wait to hear it on the cast recording. I get more from her other performances in the show (How Those Boys Could Dance, When There's No One {although not Evening Prayers}) than Buckley.*

I don't know the exact date, but i believe it is sometime in early fall.
Are you guys trying to say that "Eve Was Weak" was weak?
Is it fairly common for a cast head into the studio and still have no release date two months later?
Bonnie & Clyde took almost 2 months to announce their release date.
I thought I read that the release is supposed to be August 1?
^That's what people are saying, but it hasn't been confirmed yet.
As a huge fan of Marin's, I was very disappointed by her "Eve". Not sure if she wanted to make sure it was "her own" but some of her choices really just didn't work, I thought. I still only listen to Betty sing it and probably always will.
I think Marin was directed that way. She's such a smart actress, I find it difficult to believe she'd have pulled back that much on her own.
