Cast Recordings Before TONY Awards

So around this time of year, we get lot of cast recording announcements/drops from this year’s Tony nominated shows. However, so far this year only three of this year’s Tony nominees have release cast albums: Ragtime, Two Strangers, & Chess. Do you guys think we’re gonna get most of the ones that haven’t been recorded (Schmigadoon, Lost Boys, Cats: The Jellicle Ball, Rocky Horror and *maybe* Titanique) closer to or after the awards? If anybody knows anything, that’s a major bonus

At this point I’m pretty convinced we’ll never get a Titanique recording. There has to be some licensing reason or something.

I don’t really think we need one as every song is essentially the same number, but it would be nice to have those vocal arrangements preserved for future licensing.

The crazy expense of licensing the pop songs is what’s kept any cast recording of TITANIQUE from happening.

well besides titanique I would be surprised if we dont get a Cats: The Jellicle Ball cast recording...epsecially with those new orchestrations, I think it would also be the perfect cast recording to work out to

I feel like the Titanique people should be happy to get as far as they have with the show. There was a recent row with Celine’s people about reference to her name on merch/advertising that triggered a recall and a marketing overhaul.

Yeah, unfortunately before I was able to grab a "Celine F$%^ing Dion' shirt.....

back to topic, i can't see any of these recordings coming out before the Tony Awards.  The ceremony is right around the corner, and for anything to be released before would have to already been recorded.  The only show i've heard rumors of laying down tracks is Jellicle Ball, and since ALW likes to take his sweet time with editing and mixing, I don't see it coming out anytime soon.  Hope I am wrong..........

Yeah, unfortunately before I was able to grab a "Celine F$%^ing Dion' shirt..... "

I had the same issue when I wanted to buy a windowcard. My friend went the first night, but it was gone a few days later. I later was able to cop a signed one on eBay for $200 (which, honestly, totally worth it)

well I am holding on hope that Jellicle Ball gets a cast recording. On a positive note, I’ve heard that The Lost Boys is hitting the studio sometime within the next two weeks. It might be some time before it hits streaming but honestly id be shocked if we don’t get at least one or two tracks before the Tonys and if that’s the case I’m hoping it’s “Secret Comes Out” and/or “Lose Myself/Have To Have You” In fact that should definitely be the way to go for most of the cast recordings that haven’t been released yet.

His last album (SUNSET revival) was also a live recording. Considering he might be in striking distance of winning this year, I think he would be on the ball about getting at least a sampling of a few tracks out before the Tonys. Personally, I think it’s between CATS and CHESS in a dead heat
