Nothing really that great, I was hoping for more. I will be seeing this though and I'm thrilled about Chester Gregory!
I'm so dreading this being at the Apollo, as excited as I am to go there, I'm not to good with Subways.

I just got a Row B Center Orchestra seat for the November 29th performance, I'm really excited!! Ticketmaster really started adding on the charges though, wow!
I'm thrilled the Syesha Mercado as Deena rumor was true!
SO excited for Syesha as Deena. I'm definitely getting my behind up to Cincinnati to see it. She was my favorite idol last year and I can't wait to see her live.
I wonder if I could make a trip up to NYC to see this in November...
I can't wait to catch this in Boston!
OH MY GOD! ADRIENNE WARREN!
This woman is a talent like we rarely see! JUST you WAIT~!
She was personally chosen by Jim Steinman to premiere some of his new material (including pieces from his abandoned Warner-Bros commissed BATMAN musical, which is shockingly brilliant) a few years ago and was a member of his band The Dream Engine (along with Rob Evan and Jeremy Kushnier (and Elaine Caswell) and others). Her performance of my favorite song, "Total Eclipse of the Heart" was like a tall glass of water on a hot day and she found soulful depths in the song that took me by complete suprise. My girlfriend at the time, a big r&b and rap fan and not too keen on many musicals or "total eclipse..." for that matter, was brought to tears one night when i played her Warren's take on the song. This woman is FIERCE (and absolutely GORGEOUS).
Her voice defines passion. This will be an "Ain't No Party" to beat the band and I can only imagine the magic she and Chester will bring to the new-to-the-stage-show "Patience" which is a new highlight to this masterful score now.
Also, Syesha looks like and can sing like nobody's business! She sang an amazing "One Rock N Roll Too Many" from STARLIGHT EXPRESS (by far the best song from that score) on AMERICAN IDOL and blew everyone's socks off. It's on YT.
I was all prepared to be disappointed in this but the trifecta of Warren, Mercado and Chester sold me!

Wow. I really need to get my eyes checked. I've been sitting here thinking to myself that Maya Angelou is way too old to be playing Effie.

^ I thought the same thing Morosco.
My next thought was "Bet Chester only lasts 3 weeks"

Christ, they are adding "Patience" to the score as well? Yuck.

YES syesha is amazing
This is the perfect role for Chester! Very excited all around, but especially about his casting as Jimmy!
Can't wait for this tour. I already have tix for Columbus, but will see it in Cincy also.
Since Tallia Brinson is in this, does that mean the Xanadu national tour isn't happening anymore? Or have I missed the news on that?

WHOO FOR CHESTER AND SYSESHA
Any chance it will make a stop in Detroit, I mean that is where the story takes place

husk_charmer - you're a jerk. Chester was the first person cast in this production. He is going to be FANTASTIC. You'll eat your words.
I hope the production values and whatnot are interesting for this instead of a rehash.

Not going to Detroit this season. Not that familiar with Detroit, maybe 2010-11 or an add-on?
I'm excited. I hear every stop will have a BBQ rib kiosk located inside the theatre!!!
